In Slovakia, there are a large number of citizens from the Russian Federation, they study here, work or are ordinary tourists. All of them pre-issued a visa, which allows you to legally cross the state border. Since 2018, visa centers have ceased to operate in the Russian Federation. Therefore, this document can only be obtained at the Slovak Embassy in Moscow or at the Consulate General in St. Petersburg.
Address and how to get
This structure in the capital of Russia is located at the address: Y. Fuchik, 17/19. Getting to your destination by public transport is quite simple. The required building is 500 meters from Mayakovskaya metro station. If you do not want to walk, then you can drive one stop on buses No. 101 or 904. Get off at the bus stop at ul. Julius Fucik, the required building is immediately across the road.
The Slovak Embassy in St. Petersburg as such does not exist, only the Consulate General is located here. You can find it at the address: st. Orbeli, 21, bldg. 2. In this case, public transport is a bit more difficult to get, the nearest metro station is Ploschad Vuzhstva, about 2 km from it to its destination. Therefore, you will need to ride a minibus number K-94. You can also get here by tram number 40 or 55. Get off at the bus stop on the street. Orbeli, walk a little along the street - on the right side and there will be the desired building.
Working hours
You can apply for a visa at the Slovak Embassy in Moscow daily from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 12:00. A citizen of the Russian Federation can get a ready-made passport on the same days, but only from 15:00 to 15:30.
Before submitting documents, each should take into account one feature in the operating mode. It consists in the fact that here not only public holidays of the Russian Federation, but also Slovakia are days off. For example, the date of August 29 is not remarkable for the Russians, and in the Slovak Republic, a National Uprising took place on that day. Therefore, on August 29, not a single state structure, including the Slovak Embassy in Moscow, is operating.
Contact details
To receive any consular information, it is absolutely not necessary to personally come to the specified address. You can simply contact the help desk by phone.
Often people complain that they canβt get through, this is due to heavy workload. In this case, you can contact by e-mail. Everyone can ask a question by writing an e-mail. The answer comes quickly enough, wait from a few minutes to several hours, but only during working hours.
Visa fees and deadlines for consideration of documents
The issuance of a visa is considered free, but before applying for the necessary documents, the applicant must pay a consular fee. These are funds that are sent for consideration of all documents. For a Schengen visa, the fee is 60 euros, but between Russia and several European countries there is an agreement on simplifying the visa regime. Thus, a citizen of the Russian Federation needs to pay only 35 euros (2600 rubles) of the consular fee.
In this case, the visa is issued through the Slovak Embassy in Moscow within 10 working days, but the visa department of the embassy reserves the right to extend this period to one month. This may be due to the fact that visa officers will need any additional documents.
There are situations when a visa is needed extremely urgently. In this case, a citizen of the Russian Federation has the right to submit an urgent application. The consular fee is doubled, but the time for consideration of documents is reduced to three working days. In addition to the main package of documents, the applicant will need to submit a written explanatory letter stating good reasons for such urgency.
It should be understood that money is paid for considering the application, therefore, in case of refusal to issue a visa, money is not returned.
