Dubovik: a mushroom that closely resembles a white mushroom

The oak mushroom, whose photo is located below, is mainly found in mixed or deciduous forests and begins to grow at the end of May. Then it disappears for a while and appears again at the very end of summer, after which it actively bears fruit for about one month. It should be noted that this fungus is not very common, and it can be found much less often than boletus.

Dubovik is a mushroom that is distinguished by a wide, fleshy, yellow-brown or olive-brown hat, the diameter of which sometimes reaches twenty centimeters. At the initial stage of development, its shape is half spherical, but later it changes to a pillow shape. If the oak tree grows in a humid environment, then the hat becomes sticky and a little slippery, otherwise it feels like suede to the touch. Its flesh has a yellowish color, which, when broken, rapidly becomes blue-green, and even later it turns black. Dubovik is a mushroom that has a stalk up to 12 cm high and about 5 cm wide. It is covered with a net of a reddish hue and thickens in its lower part. If you press a little on the prolific body, it will turn blue like a broken hat. The same can be said about the place of the incision. In this regard, the people often call the oak tree a β€œbruise”.

The oak mushroom is edible, and is superior in taste to a large number of other varieties. Along with this, for eating it you need to fulfill a number of conditions. First of all, it should be noted that in its raw form it is poisonous. It is strictly forbidden to combine it with alcoholic beverages, which is hazardous to health. Duboviki can be fried, boiled, salted and pickled. Before you cook them, you must boil the mushrooms for fifteen minutes, after which pour the broth. If this is not done, then you can also be poisoned.

Not only to taste, but also outwardly the oak tree (mushroom) is very similar to boletus. It grows, as a rule, only on calcareous and clay soils, on the territory of deciduous tracts and parks. The period of the most active growth falls on him in September. One of the significant drawbacks is the outward resemblance to a life-threatening satanic mushroom. Therefore, collecting oak trees, you should pay close attention to the legs, which in the region of the tubular layer should have a red-purple color. However, it has been scientifically proven that if you properly boil satanic mushrooms, you can also eat them, because in fact, they belong to the same family.

An interesting feature of the oak tree is that as it grows up, the color changes, which is first red and orange, and at the end - dirty olive, as already noted. As practice shows, an oak tree is a mushroom that is not so easy to find. It's no secret that the main goal of any mushroom picker is precisely the cep. If you look from the other side, then everyone is able to find it, but with a cudgel - a completely different story. In other words, for people who are versed in this field, he has recently become one of the standards.
