The aquarium is always a delight! Both the owners themselves and their guests. What could be more beautiful than watching the calm and peaceful swimming of its inhabitants? So that the aquarium can only evoke positive emotions, it must be properly designed. There are a large number of various elements that add beauty and personality to each such home reservoir. And plants for the aquarium also belong to them. That's what I want to talk about with you today.
When you are designing a home for fish, in no case do not ignore the plants for the aquarium. After all, they will not only perfectly decorate it, but will also solve such important problems as saturating the water with necessary oxygen, purifying it, and restraining the growth of algae that all aquarists hate. Yes, and many species of fish use plants for the aquarium in order to lay their eggs on them. As you can see, "green spaces" are simply necessary for the aquatic fauna, and therefore must be present in most aquariums.
Why not in all, but in most? There are certain reasons for this. They consist in the fact that there are some species of fish that feed on leaves, thereby destroying plants for the aquarium. Photos of these fish can be found anywhere, if they are of interest to you. If you decide to get just such fish, use only artificial vegetation.

Now I will give some description of plants for aquariums. All of them can be conditionally combined into three groups. The first will include those that are able to inhabit exclusively under water, the second - those that can exist, being outside the "reservoir", well, and the third group should include those samples that cannot be in the water at all. So, mainly for the decoration of aquariums, vegetation belonging to the second group is used. The most common options are cryptocarin, lemongrass, hygrophil, echinodorus, etc. The main thing is that all plants for the aquarium are in harmony with the fish, the shape and height of the tank. It is also worth making sure that there is enough light for them.
When you plant vegetation in aquarium soil (sand or pebbles - not so important), follow some simple rules. All the largest plants should be located in the back of the tank so that the appearance of a particular aquarium is not overloaded. But smaller vegetation, as a rule, is planted in the middle and on both sides of the aquarium. Well, the smallest samples will look best in the foreground.
Finally, I would like to talk in more detail about artificial plants. Now they are gaining popularity among aquarium lovers for the reasons that they do not require any care, they do not need to be fed, they never suffer from various diseases, and you can always choose absolutely any shape and color. However, you should not buy them in an aquarium where fish live that do not eat up living vegetation.
Indeed, in addition to the decorative function, these plants will not perform any useful. In extreme cases, if you really liked something from the "man-made" flora, use it together with living plants.
