When you look at this magical charm, it is impossible to believe that such an ornament can be made in a matter of minutes. And this work is within the power of absolutely every person - you only need to stock up with scissors, paper and wire. So how to make paper pompons ?
Material for pompons
Not all paper is suitable for a pompom. It must be very light and thin in order to make the decoration luxuriant and airy. It is better to use tissue, wrapping, silk or crepe paper. But financially, the most affordable materials are corrugated paper and tracing paper. The color of the paper is also important. Pompons of gentle pastel shades turn out to be very beautiful, however, sometimes it will be more appropriate to use bright colors as decoration - yellow, purple, bright red.
Making paper pompons
A paper pompom can be made in several ways. Here we will talk about the two most popular. Photos have been added to each instruction, showing the basic steps.
Option one
Take a sheet of a strip of paper 20 × 6 cm (dimensions can be proportionally increased or decreased), fold it in half and make cuts along the fold line. The cuts should not reach the opposite edge of the strip. Then we unfold the leaf and bend it in the opposite direction, so we will provide splendor to the flower loops. Next, we turn the strip by hand or with a pencil and fasten with threads or tape. Thus, a small paper pompom is obtained, ideal for creating compositions or decorating gifts.
Second option
The paper pompom made using this technology turns out to be more magnificent, airy and very effective. So, we take 8 sheets of special thin paper and fold them at the same time with an accordion. The width of the accordion is 4 cm, each fold must be ironed carefully. Next, you need to take a half-meter piece of floristic wire, fold it in half and fasten the center of the accordion with it. The edges of the paper should be trimmed with a triangle or a semicircle. Then we carefully spread each layer of paper, and we get a beautiful and fluffy pompom. The edge of the wire can be bent like a ring or hook, depending on how you need to hang the jewelry.
The use of paper pompons
Paper pompom is a universal decoration. They decorate halls for wedding ceremonies, arrange great gifts, and use them as decor for arches and arbors. Birth of a baby, girlfriend's birthday, anniversary, corporate party - you can add colors to any holiday.
A paper pompom is a very inexpensive accessory. The finished product (depending on the material and size) costs 40-100 rubles. And if you make it yourself, as in our case, then it will cost several times cheaper. Another advantage is that such a decoration can be used repeatedly (only not on the street).
