The term “licentious” is understood as a character trait or personality trait, in particular, by this word is meant a certain lack of restraint in behavior, the concept of discipline, immorality and depravity, a tendency to act on one’s whim, ignoring morality.
Use of the term
In everyday speech, the term is used in combination “sexual licentiousness”, but the meaning of the word is much broader and can mean gluttony, alcoholism, lack of proper upbringing or moral principles, a sense of shame and other unseemly acts. More often than not, “mindlessness” refers to thoughtless sexual relations and bad habits.
Sexual promiscuity
By “sexual licentiousness” is meant the absence, inability or unwillingness to control one’s sexual needs, expressed in a willingness to thoughtlessly engage in sexual contact, not guided by moral issues. Both male and female licentiousness manifests itself in frequent changes in the sexual partner, betrayal and relationships with strangers, often in alcohol or drug intoxication.
Previously, half a century ago, it was a shame to have sexual intercourse before marriage, but now couples often live together before the wedding, or even do not marry at all, but have sexual intercourse almost from the first date.
Against the background of this sad situation, children's licentiousness is also growing: at an early age, adolescents begin to have sexual intercourse, and abortion of girls at the age of 14-16 is not so rare.
Alcoholism is licentiousness
Many doctors claim that alcoholism is a serious illness and it requires treatment, like other diseases. But the population has their own opinion on this matter, they call alcoholism moral licentiousness.
And that, and the other side of the law in part, because alcoholism can cause delirium tremens, epilepsy, and can lead to death. It turns out that this is still a disease? Yes, but what pushes a person, no matter how he himself and his licentiousness? After all, the first glass rises absolutely voluntarily. Therefore, drinking is a manifestation of licentiousness, inability to control oneself, after which the consequences will not take long. If a person, having sipped alcohol, cannot stop - this is licentiousness and inability to drink.
"Do not know how to drink - do not drink!". And what does it mean to be able to? To dwell on the moment when there is a slight intoxication, a weak one, after which you will not be tormented by a hangover the next morning.
All these examples are examples of human licentiousness, a negative personality trait, but which, with a strong desire, can be easily overcome by becoming a healthy, well-educated member of society.
