How to play art in World of Tanks

“World of Tanks” has become a cult military-themed game in which battles are fought using equipment familiar to us from participating in World War II (and a little before and after). The game provides us with the opportunity to drive a tank and try to help our team as much as possible. The help here, by the way, will be very different, depending on the type of tank (there are light, medium, heavy tanks, as well as self-propelled artillery mounts (self-propelled guns) and self-propelled guns of the class "tank destroyer", called PT here). Most players quickly understand what is happening and how to play what, but many are interested in how to play artillery (SPG) correctly, because this is the most difficult type of tanks in the game.

Hard to learn

First, self-propelled guns are a support class that requires special skills and knowledge in Wot. How to play the "art"? After all, the game has many of its models and each will be very different from the other. Secondly, it is worth considering the features of the nation to which your artillery belongs. There are those who prefer high damage, but do not take into account accuracy and rate of fire, but there are completely different ones that put accuracy in the first place. It will depend on how you play the "art".

We choose the taste

In the game at the moment there are 5 nations that have a branch of development of tanks called self-propelled guns (in total 10 levels for each tank, not counting the initial one, you can sit down at artillery from the 2nd level) - these are the USA, Germany, the USSR, France and Great Britain. With the choice of a certain nation, you will have to immediately think about how to play the "art" with a certain bias. We will analyze artillery tactics by nation, but for a start - general rules and tactics.

General position

  1. Always try to take a position either somewhere in a niche or on a hill (in the first case it’s harder to see you, in the second you can shoot at any part of the map).
  2. Try to change positions after each shot (otherwise the enemy self-propelled guns will calculate you).
  3. Try to hide behind hills, rocks, and even better - hide your equipment in the bushes.
  4. The center point in the scope (which shows the perfect hit) should always be set for the tank you are shooting at. So your shell will not fall into the tracks, but closer to the tower or even to the "back" of the tank, and there will be much more damage from it.
  5. Kill opponents only when there is no one else to finish them off. Otherwise, your task is to inflict damage.
  6. Your initial target is enemy ATs and heavy tanks.

SPG USA

It has huge damage and a large radius of expansion of fragments. It is characterized by poor accuracy, speed of sight reduction (affects accuracy), low rate of fire and mobility of the equipment itself. We'll have to take places as distant as possible from the hostilities, and choose the most armored tanks that stand still.

Germany

If you want to learn how to play on the "art" of this nation, then it is enough to conduct 2-3 battles on the technique of level 5-6 to understand the meaning of the entire development branch. Decent accuracy, damage, rate of fire, radius of expansion and mobility. Your task is to fire at medium tanks (they will not leave your projectile, and you can immediately deprive the enemy of one piece of equipment).

USSR

Good rate of fire, excellent accuracy. Not very high damage, small radius of fragmentation. In order to understand how to play the “art” of this nation, you will have to forget about your profit. Your main goal is to support an allied attack. With your accurate shots, interfere with enemy ATs, and also try to damage heavy tanks (shoot down a track, for example).

France

How to play the French “art” is a tricky question, because this nation has the most extraordinary technique. The highest rate of fire, excellent accuracy and mobility are the only pluses. Try to be as close to the battlefield as possible in order to inflict as much damage as possible in a short period of time. Melee you carry the easiest.

Great Britain

Want to know how to play the "art" of Misty Albion? Then just read what is written about the self-propelled guns in the USA, because this type of "art" almost completely copies them. There is practically no difference, but the tactics are even the same.
