The pyrethrum plant (Pyretrum, translated from Greek “feast” - “fire”) is probably named after almost all of its species used as an antipyretic. The genus is quite extensive - more than a hundred species, eighty percent of which live in the wild.
Pyrethrum is a herbaceous perennial or annual plant, branched, with single flowers in the form of baskets. Petals pink, white, red and other shades of this spectrum. Hybrid feverfew is readily cultivated. Landing and caring for him is not a problem. The plant is very popular among fans of daisies, of which there are a great many among gardeners. The flower is very sweet, delicate and grateful for the care.

Seeds of non-pyrethrum, resembling aster seeds, retain germination for up to three years. Perfectly grow on any inconvenience, frost-resistant. The soil does not like only clay, where water stagnates. Her nutritional value does not matter. The shadow is also not important, you do not need to cover the flower. Every three years, pyrethrum should be replanted, because the bushes are very actively growing, the flowers are smaller. After flowering, if seed collection is not required, the bushes are pruned at soil level.
Breeding methods
If preservation of the parent form of the plant is expected, pyrethrum should not be sown. Planting and care is even easier if you do this by dividing or by root and green cuttings. However, many gardeners take a different view on the cultivation of this unpretentious miracle. When propagated by seeds, the color does not persist, the pyrethrum flowers grow the most diverse. Therefore, it is more interesting for curious people to propagate it by seeds and each time expect surprises from their pet.
Sowing
In April, feverfew is sown. Planting and care do not require any additional tricks, except for well-known ones: a box with soil, a lighted place, for the first time a film in order to keep moisture. The grown plants are planted directly in the ground in a permanent place. In the summer they will bloom. By the way, you can sow feverfew in the summer, even directly into the ground immediately after collecting seeds. True, they will not have time to bloom this year.
Division propagation
As soon as it fades, you can share feverfew. Planting and care are also not burdensome: dig up an old bush, shake off the earth, having cleaned the roots, you can even rinse them. Divide the bush into sockets, which is also not at all difficult, and immediately plant it on the desired site. Every two or three years, this procedure should be carried out if only because the plants are so comfortable - without crowding, they bloom more and last longer. New plantings must be watered, weeded and mulched.
Propagation by cuttings
Basal shoots, while young, are suitable for cuttings throughout the summer. Root the cuttings in the shade, cover with a film so that they do not fade and dry. And in the shortest time, feverfew will take root. Planting and care, and with this method do not cause trouble.
