Muscovites and guests of the capital are in awe of the Kuskovo forest zone, which has retained the mystery and spirit of grandeur to our time. Over the long history, the park has not lost its pristine beauty and has become even more attractive. The natural heritage of Russia is located in the south-east of Moscow, not far from Ryazan Avenue.
You can freely enter its territory at any time of the year to calmly wander along the forest paths, admire the flowering garden, observe the yellow leaves of the crowns of trees, breathe clean air and shield yourself from the noisy metropolis. Kuskovsky Park is one of the best creations of mankind on Earth. Let's take a short tour of its surroundings.
Description
The forest-park zone has officially belonged to the architectural landscape gardening objects of the city since 1979. Its area is more than 300 hectares. It is divided into several sections: the 18th century Kuskovo estate and the forest park itself, where tropical plants grow.
Pride and at the same time a tourist attraction is the residence of the Sheremetev family (Kuskovo estate). The count received this piece of land from his father and spoke of it as a “piece”, hence the name of the estate. From that era, the architectural ensemble has been perfectly preserved with numerous sculptures, stone statues in the form of lions, Roman gods and heroes, as well as manicured lawns and a wonderful pond.
At the estate there is a temple of the All-Merciful Savior. A pointed building was erected near the bell tower, resembling the Peter and Paul Fortress with an angel on the roof. The baroque palace, decorated with an intriguing monogram, attracts the attention of the viewer. A small Dutch house was erected next to it , admiring the interior.

Kuskovsky park is a flat flat terrain. The pond separating green spaces and the residence of Count Sheremetev adds vivacity to the nature reserve. The area is ennobled with benches, paved paths, well-groomed alleys with flowering shrubs.
The flora of the park is diverse and rich. Basically, birch forests are found here interspersed with maple, pine, linden, aspen, Maak bird cherry and larch. Lime and oak species with various herbs also grow on this earth. Dominated by dandelion, pike, urban gravilat , tenacious creeping and golden buttercup.
From local plants you can find hazel, viburnum, raspberry shrubs, as well as small rowan trees. Of the representatives of the flora that are atypical for this region, one can note cumanica, yarrow, cotoneaster brilliant, white snow-berry, Thunberg barberry and hawthorn. Kuskovsky Park also abounds in coniferous trees, such as Western thuja, Siberian larch and prickly spruce.
In addition to the unique vegetation, the area is occupied by fauna: squirrels, ducks, frogs, small birds, owls and woodpeckers. People flock here to ride horses and ponies (on weekends, for a fee), there are also many bike paths. There is a bicycle rental service in Kuskovsky Park, and anyone can rent a vehicle and take a walk in the natural garden area. In winter, you can ski and sled, build snow women and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Kuskovo Palace Estate (Kuskovsky Park): how to get to your destination?
On your own car you need to move along the Moscow Ring Road, along Youth Street, park the car near the Palace Entrance.
Public transport: we reach the Ryazansky pr. Metro station, transfer to the bus - No. 133, 208. We leave at the Kuskovo Museum stop. All drivers know this place.
Opening hours and entry costs
In the summer (April-October), the residence receives guests from 10 am to 6 pm. In winter - from 10 to 16. Weekends - Monday, Tuesday. Free Kuskovsky Park is open once a month - on the third Sunday (decree of the Department of Culture). On other days, a complex ticket costs at least 300 rubles.
