The city of Ljubljana, the sights of which we will briefly describe, is located on the banks of the river Ljubljana. It is the capital of Slovenia and the largest settlement in the country. The city is incredibly beautiful, but it is especially beautiful in the evening, when you can watch Ljubljana’s nightlife from the windows of cozy cafes. In two hours of walking tours of the capital, you can see all the most outstanding sights. The town managed to preserve the historical spirit and authenticity. This place is so amazing that it is often called “miniature Prague”. Although the city is the largest in Slovenia, in terms of its parameters it is quite small. This did not stop him from concentrating on his territory a huge number of attractions.
For those who love theater
Ljubljana, the sights of which are liked even by people who do not like to consider architecture and various sculptures, primarily recommends that tourists see the Slovenian National Theater. The opera building was built during the years 1890-1892. The construction project was developed by Czech architects Anton Khrubi and Jan Hraski. The building is designed in the neo-renaissance style.
The facade of the house is characterized by the presence of two niches decorated with allegorical statues that display the Comedy and Tragedy of Aloisia Gangl. Ljubljana (we will continue to consider the sights) can safely call this object the best of those that are in the city. The building of the national theater owes its unforgettable bow to the luxuriously decorated facade. The majestic structure is supported by ionic columns. In niches of the theater there are sculptures of Triumph and Poetry. Above these monuments rises a figure with a flashlight that embodies genius.
House of the architect and his brothers
Ljubljana, the sights of which cannot but arouse admiration, is known for the House of Jerzy Plečnik. This house was purchased by the brother of a famous architect - Andrei. An event occurred in 1915. And in 1921, Plechnik returned to Ljubljana and decided to live in this estate with his two brothers and sister. In the courtyard of the estate, the architect erected a cylindrical outbuilding. Later he created a glass porch here. Soon after this, Jerzy acquired neighboring housing, and this was transferred to the possession of the conservatory.
But the brothers did not live together for long: one of them, Yanesh, moved out after some time. Then Plecnik remade the estate to suit his needs. Today, the Plečnik House is part of the exposition of the Ljubljana Architectural Museum. On the territory of the house there is a unique collection represented by unusual objects that belonged to Mr. Jerzy. Plechnik lived in this house from 1921 to 1957. The main collection exhibits are exhibited in a cylindrical outbuilding.
20th Century Bridge
In the northwestern part of Vodnik Square, the Dragon Bridge was built. Ljubljana (sights, photos are presented in our article) found this object in the last century, and today this monument is guarded by the city authorities. At first, the bridge was named after Frans Joseph I. But very soon after the bridge was opened, its name was forgotten and the design was renamed to Dragon Bridge. The name was due to the presence of four dragons pedestals, which are placed at the corners of the attraction.
The Dragon Bridge became the first bridge in Slovenia to be covered with asphalt. In addition, this is the first construction of such a plan in Ljubljana, made of reinforced concrete. According to legend, the creator of Ljubljana is Jason. And these same legends say that he killed the dragon along with other Argonauts. Among the four statues of the object now is this dragon. And local residents say that the animal begins to wave its tail at the moment when an innocent girl passes over the bridge.

The height of the high-rise building is slightly higher than 70 meters and it is equipped with high-speed elevators, central heating and an air conditioning system.
