The plot of the adventure tells that a mysterious meteorite fell on planet Earth (in the adventure it is called differently), which completely changed life. People were divided into fractions and began to live together with a new mineral that fell from space. There was no world war, but conflicts could not be avoided. From the very beginning, the main character will have to choose which of the available factions to join and try to lead her to victory.
In principle, the beginning of the game “Gothic 5” immediately indicates a great similarity with the previous parts. In them, users were also invited to choose the side of the conflict and embark on an exciting adventure. Only earlier this did not particularly affect the narration and the gameplay, and now your decision will predetermine not only the class of the hero, but also the environment in which he has to stay. After the start of the game, many fans of the game series immediately began to note an amazing similarity with the previous parts: a beautiful and spacious world, small towns, constant battles and quests. The atmosphere of the game "Gothic" has always pleased fans and has never been an object of criticism. Elex once again managed to arouse all nostalgic memories and present them in a new wrapper. Of particular note is the graphics in the game, it is worthy of attention and admiration.
If we discard all the analysis of quests, weapons, and other typical elements, you will immediately want to note the main feature associated with the division of the population into fractions. Now your choice will be available to the following representatives:
- Berserkers are typical warriors who are used to using axes, swords and bows in battle. Sometimes they try to use magic.
- Outcasts are representatives of the post-apocalypse. They are particularly prone to using the new mineral as drugs, which provide new opportunities. Absolutely all outcasts sit on stimulants that significantly improve their reflexes. In addition, they use firearms in battle.
- Clerics are a more modern faction using lasers, mental weapons and power armor.
- Alba are mutants who have completely saturated their body with a new mineral. Thanks to this, they became powerful, dangerous and practically immortal.
Each of the presented fractions has its own interests and offers the player a variety of opportunities. Keep in mind that after choosing a side, your hero will be able to use only those weapons and the advantages that all their representatives are endowed with. This is what will predetermine the character class in the future.
In the review of the game "Gothic 5" I would like to mention the revised quest system. Yes, they remained familiar in terms of interface, but now there is a choice that affects the further development of history. Story inserts, side quests - everything became more interesting and lively. Small scenes appeared during conversations in the form of fights, clarification of relationships, etc. This side of the game was very pleased and made the adventure more “lively”.
As for the content, there is plenty of it. An abundant number of enemies and weapons, the usual system of development through training from masters and wide open spaces for exploring the world. True, the environment is still sparsely populated, although the characters have become better, they are still perceived as dolls, and fights do not hold interest and quickly end. Although the game has such a negative layer, we liked it. Yes, there is something to criticize for, but this is the same old “Gothic”, which is beaten by time and negativity, but despite this, it remains a kind and atmospheric adventure. True, not all players share our opinion.
