The first announcement took place in 2007, July 10th. Creative Entertaiment worked on developing a first-person parkour game. Publisher engaged in the company Electronic Arts.

In November 2008, the game Mirrors Edge, the system requirements of which will be indicated below, was released on two game consoles. This, of course, is about the Sony Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The version of the parkour action with action movie elements was released on the computers of happy users in 2009, January 13.
A bit about development
The basis of the game is an engine called Unreal Engine. It was well-designed by a team of programmers who pored over the creation of Mirror's Edge. So, a number of new, high-quality lighting effects were added. Together with Creative Entertaiment, Illuminate Labs worked on a cross-platform action.
Plot
The game takes place in some city. The time is not exactly indicated, but numerous details indicate that this, although the future, is clearly not so distant. The means of communication that citizens use is fully controlled by government law enforcement agencies. It is simply impossible to exchange messages using such means, avoiding supervision from above. The only way to convey your information to a person in such a way that it is not read by the police is possible only with the help of peculiar couriers running, as they are called in the game. The main character of the action, Faith, belongs to the category of such people.
Game process
Mirrors Edge, the system requirements of which we will consider a little later, is, in fact, an action game where the player is given a first-person view. Elements of the action movie in the game, of course, are present. However, the sharpened Mirror's Edge is clearly not under this business. The main element here is parkour skills. They are a help, using which it is necessary to move from level to level.
Game features
Perhaps the main feature can be called a bright color palette. Mirror's Edge has almost no HUD. The player has the opportunity to see his arms, legs, as well as inspect the body. It is worth noting that for games that require the presence of a first person, this is very rare.
Critics of Mirror's Edge
Basically, the game received positive reviews from various critics. And the players who tried to compete in the network mode were simply thrilled. Innovation has been praised. The environment in the game also did not go unnoticed. But the disadvantage was the relatively short storyline. The soundtrack was written by Magnus Birgerssson. The final song was performed by Lisa Miskowski (Sweden). By the way, she composed this song. An entire album has now been released that includes remixes of the final track.
Mobile versions
In 2010 (as it turned out, it was not a joke at all) the side-scroller of the game was released specifically for the iPad. A few months later, this application was optimized and released for the iPhone. And in 2012, the side scroller appeared on Windows Phone.
Exit Mirrors Edge 2
In the summer of 2013, the E3 exhibition was held, at which the announcement of the game of the same name took place. The developers said that this will not be so much a new part, but just a restart of the original version.
More recently, EA has registered another trademark called Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. The very next day, the world community of gamers and just lovers of this game received official confirmation that this is the name of the new part.
Mirrors Edge. PC system requirements
So, in order to simply launch the game and use it at the minimum settings, the computer must have modest enough characteristics, as it turned out. This will require an Intel Pentium 4 processor, operating at a clock frequency of 3.0 GHz. RAM is enough in the amount of 1 GB for the operating system Windows XP and 2 GB for Windows Vista. Accordingly, 2 gigabytes will also be required for people who have Windows 7 installed. As a video card, the offspring of the company NVidia is suitable, or more precisely, this is the GeForce 6800 model . Important: the video card must support Shader Model 3.0 technology. The memory on the video card to run at minimum settings is enough in the amount of 256 MB. The game itself will take at least 8 GB of hard drive space.
And to enjoy all the charms of Mirror's Edge, without exaggeration, its stunning graphics, which not every game can boast at present, will have to fork out for the purchase of an Inter Core 2 Du processor operating at a clock frequency of 2 GHz. RAM will have to increase by 1 GB. As a graphics card, you can use the model GeForce 8800 from NVidia. Important: support for the previously mentioned technology must also be present, and the memory on the video card must be at least 512 GB.

At the time of writing this article (August 2015), we can safely say that the vast majority of players can enjoy the game at maximum settings, appreciate the quality of lighting effects developed by a team of programmers and a studio, and completely immerse themselves in the game world.
Today (almost all) the weakest computers are equipped with iron, which will perfectly cope with this task. Nevertheless, the level of quality in the gaming industry has risen significantly compared to previous years. We are talking, of course, about games such as GTA 5, Battlefield 4, The Witcher 2 and others. So gamers are trying to meet the minimum requirements of such games. Which, in turn, allows you to run older options at maximum settings. The important thing is that (as in the case with Mirror's Edge) they look no less attractive in terms of graphic equipment.
