In order for this perennial to flourish and have a healthy appearance, it is necessary to choose the right place for its planting. It grows and develops best in open sunny areas. The soil for lechnis requires acidity neutral, light, loose and moderately moist. If the soil is acidified, lime must first be added to it. In general, long-term lichen is quite unpretentious, but it does not tolerate too damp soils and stagnant water. These perennials prefer sufficient and regular watering, especially in dry weather, need plenty of moisture. However, when watering, water stagnation should not be allowed, which can lead to decay of perennial roots. It is also advisable to feed the plant with mineral fertilizers. You can do this once a month, during the growing season. In one place, long-term lichen can grow up to 5 years, after which it will need to be transplanted to a new site. They do this in the fall or spring: they dig a bush and carefully divide it into several parts, and then the resulting specimens are planted in a new place. With sufficient lighting and watering, Lychnis will delight you with its lush flowering from June to August.

Reproduction of this perennial is carried out in several ways: dividing adult specimens, grafting and sowing seeds. You can plant lichen seeds both in the greenhouse and in the open ground. The greenhouse method involves sowing seeds in the middle or end of March, at a temperature of about 20 ° C. Seedling boxes with seeds are covered with foil, and after 3 weeks the shelter is removed after emergence. After the germination of 2 true leaves make a pick. And at the end of May, the sprouts are transplanted into the open ground. In August, a lichen is transplanted for permanent residence, the plant should bloom next year. Many varieties of this perennial normally tolerate low temperatures, so they do not require shelter for the winter.
