Material such as sand plays a large role in construction. It is added to various mixtures, which are used for the manufacture of blocks, concrete and mortar for plaster. Embankments and roads also strengthen them. The product is used not only natural, but also artificial.
Depending on the type of mining, there is sand alluvial, quarry, river or sea. Washed sand is an environmentally friendly material that allows water to pass through. It practically does not contain clay and stones.
Mining method
The product is "knocked out" by a large pressure of water in a hydromechanical way, removing all solid particles. It becomes smaller and more uniform, its quality improves. Today, alluvial sand is very in demand in construction.

Alluvial sand can be fine-grained, medium-grained and coarse-grained. Its average value is 0.6 mm. Color depends on what impurities are present in the material. White or grayish color has pure
quartz sand. If the shade is more likely brown or yellow, iron oxides are present in the material.
Application
Sand alluvial use:
- for the manufacture of borders, columns, reinforced concrete rings, paving slabs;
- as a filler of solutions;
- for finishing work.
Sand quarry washed (washed) has several advantages compared with conventional quarry material (unwashed).
Advantages
- Does not contain clay particles (unlike unwashed quarry sand, which has to be sieved).
- Excluded the content of large stones and earth.
- There are no organic inclusions.
- No need for additional cleaning.
Of great importance in construction is the use of pure rock. There are ways to clean the material. If it is necessary to rinse a small amount of the product, then it is sieved and water is supplied. In advance, you need to worry about the container where the mixture will fall asleep. Water is changed several times until the material is clean.
You can also buy alluvial sand, the price of which is higher than the seeded. Its advantage is that it is already clean. There is a traditional way to clean the mixture. Take a metal mesh stretched over the frame. First, the mixture is sieved through a grid, and then washed in a container.
In construction, there are works that require the use of large crystals. To do this, take a frame with a mesh of 5-10 mm. It is installed strictly horizontally on bricks (4-5 pieces in each corner). The grid is lined with burlap. The mixture is poured on top, leveling it, and water is supplied under pressure from the hose.
Sometimes in construction they use a sand mixture with impurities of the earth and other suspensions. It is permissible to use it when it is not required that the work be carried out using only high-quality materials. For example, it is required to fill up a site above the ground or a trench.
Both natural and artificial sand are used. The strength of the products depends on the quality of the building mixture.
