In the game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, we meet with Sabrina Glevissig during the tasks Eternal Battle and The Curse of Blood. Both quests are the main ones and are involved in the development of the main storyline. Before we delve into the gameplay itself, first we’ll talk about who the sorceress was and what her role in The Witcher 2 was.
Original and video game
Sabrina Glevissig is a minor character: she plays a role in the plot, but does not have a rich personal story behind her. It is worth noting that in our article we will not rely on the source, that is, on books authored by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. But here are some examples from The Witcher game series, which, although it takes the original as its basis, can sometimes include a number of discrepancies. In the case of Sabrina, the differences are key.
A Few Known Facts
Sabrina Glevissig from Ard Carraig was a very famous and powerful sorceress, who also had a huge influence on the events taking place in the Northern Kingdoms. She collaborated with King Henselt and was his court adviser. The enchantress played a key role during the battle between Kaedven and Demovend, destroying almost all living things on the battlefield with a fire spell. For her deed, she was sentenced to unprecedented punishment - burning alive. After some events that took place with the participation of the player, Sabrina was named a saint and a cult worshiping her was founded in her honor.
In addition, the heroine was a participant in the Lodge of the Enchantress, who played one of the key roles in the plot of the Witcher trilogy. During her life, she had a strong friendship with Triss Merigold - they were both friends and rivals at the same time.
Acquaintance
In addition to The Witcher 2, the heroine appears in the first part of the series. Despite the fact that Sabrina Glevissig was absent in the main plot, her role was played by a small addition, which was created in a special editor. The story "Prices of neutrality" is a reference to one of the original stories from the books of Andrzej Sapkowski.
Passage "Eternal battle"
In this quest, for the first time, we are introduced to the enchantress of King Henselt and give even more information about what is happening in the story. All actions take place in the second chapter, so we recall that returning to the first will not succeed.
Philip and Detmold tell us about the fog and how to deal with it. In order to successfully get inside and fight with the ghosts of dead soldiers, Geralt needs to find several characters, each of which represents one of four qualities: courage, hatred, faith and death. After we manage to get to all the objects, we can safely go into the fog.
While traveling on the other side, several ghosts invade Geralt, so for some time we will have to go through their memories. At first, these are several warriors, with whom we will survive their last moments on the battlefield. In the end, Geralt must stand up to Draug - one of the most powerful opponents in this chapter. To fight him, you have to choose the right tactic, otherwise you can easily die.
After the victory, the Witcher becomes obsessed with the last spirit, this time the priest. It becomes clear to us what did happen on that unfortunate day. We retreat along with the Priest and the only detachment of surviving soldiers and meet Henselt. The truth is revealed that a terrible tragedy occurred through the fault of Sabrina. The enchantress is taken to the fire, and we become witnesses to her death.
Passage "Curses of blood"
The murder of Sabrina Glevissig left a terrible shadow on the fate of the king. It turns out, dying, the sorceress sent a curse on Henselt, which prettyly ruined his life. Geralt offers his services and promises to rid the king of Sabrina’s wrath if he pays him well.
For detailed information about the curse, you should go to Detmold, after which it is worth exploring the very place where the sorceress was burned. Next, we meet nearby several soldiers who will tell us about the Inspired and about the "protective nail." We set off again to talk with the first, as well as to meet a merchant selling various relics and artifacts.
During the passage of the main task, we activate a few additional quests. With their help, Geralt will receive a number of items necessary to complete the main task.
By the way, in “The Curse of Blood” we will meet with several familiar characters, such as Rocher and Zoltan, with whom you can talk and, accordingly, move forward in the story.
At the end of the quest, when the Witcher is ready to put an end to the curse, we go to the place of Sabrina's burning along with Henselt. We conduct a special ritual there and call the spirit of the sorceress, who immediately rushes to attack us. Geralt will have to fight off the spirits until the king pierces Sabrina Glevissig with a spear of fate.
