How is a do-it-yourself tree made of sisal? Stage 1. We are preparing materials
To create a New Year's souvenir you will need:
- cardboard or heavy paper;
- floristic wire;
- double-sided and regular tape;
- thermal gun;
- stapler;
- sisal fiber;
- foam pieces;
- wooden skewers;
- capacity (plastic cup, flower pot, any other jar or box);
- gypsum;
- Christmas decor elements: sequins, snowflakes, rain, serpentine, tinsel.

- Twist the cone out of paper, secure it with tape or a stapler.
- Put a small piece of polystyrene (about 3 cm in diameter) on the tip of a wooden stick, and attach a piece of wire (5-6 cm) here. He will serve as the crown of a tree. Secure the structure with a glue gun.
- Insert the stick into the cone from the top with the other end. Holding it right in the middle of the structure, fill the inside of the cone with small pieces of polystyrene foam or crumpled paper. Seal the bottom of the product with a round cardboard part using adhesive tape.
- Wrap the bottom of the wooden skewer with tape or tinsel.
- If the paper from which the base of the product is made is not the same color as the sisal fiber, paint it with watercolors or gouache paints and dry it.
- Tape the surface of the cone with strips of double-sided tape, capturing the wire on the top of the head. Pre-bend it slightly to the side.
- Gently wrap sisal fibers around the product so that paper is not visible. Fix the fiber in places with a heat gun.
- Fill the container with pieces of polystyrene, insert in the center of the tree. To make the sisal herringbone stable, take a deep and wide jar or box. It is desirable to fix a large product with plaster. To do this, dilute it to the consistency of sour cream and pour into a container over the foam. Hold the tree for several minutes straight until it is seized with plaster. Leave to dry for a couple of hours.
Stage 3. Decorate
The sisal tree will look bright and elegant if it is decorated with New Year's attributes. For this purpose, use sequin snowflakes, bright volumetric buttons, rain, ribbons from braid and other decorative elements. Wrap the pot with paper, floral net or just cotton and tie a ribbon. Close the place under the tree with tinsel or cotton wool, imitating a snowball. Hang a small ball or bell on the twisted crown of the Christmas tree. So your sisal tree is ready!
