History of creation
The history of the Youth Palace in Yekaterinburg begins in the 1950s. Construction was decided to begin on the site of the former hippodrome. G.I.Belyankin took up the development of the building plan . Construction continued for 23 years, having survived freezing due to lack of funds. And on November 19, 1973, the Youth Palace opened its doors to all comers. At the head of the department stood L. N. Brook. He led the construction after defrosting.
At that time, the Youth Palace looked unusual and unique, attracting the attention of citizens. Its architecture surprised and delighted everyone. The heyday of the Palace and the growth of vigorous activity of circles and sections fell on the period from 1970 to 1980. This time is remarkable for the creation of currently well-known groups and associations: the folk dance ensemble of Alexander Polichkin, the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Alyonushka", the orchestra of the bayan players.
The palace cordially welcomed in its halls such writers and poets as A. Voznesensky, N. Doriz, Ch. Aitmatov. Here, Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin's performances repeatedly took place. The Youth Palace managed to survive the crucial era of the 80-90s and, in spite of everything, continue its existence. Since 1994, the institution has been expanding: the palace takes on a new task - to give young minds additional education. As a result, the Youth Palace is born.
Life today
At the moment, the Youth Palace in Yekaterinburg combines the functions of a center for extracurricular education for children and a concert venue. Various events are held here: conferences, workshops, concerts, New Year trees, company holidays. Famous Russian artists perform on the stage of the large hall: Pelageya, Bi-2, Yegor Creed, Nepara and others. Many liked the systematic performances of "Ural dumplings."
Additional education is conducted in the fields of technology, tourism, ecology, art, sports and media. The palace has partnered with Samsung to provide an IT education. The activities of the institution are distributed between eight branches and centers:

- Center for adaptive physical education for children with disabilities.

- By bus 152/66. This bus is suburban. Its route from the station to the Youth Palace runs through Chelyuskintsev Street, March 8 Street and Lenin Avenue. The trip takes 20-25 minutes.

From the Northern Bus Station to the Youth Palace you can get:
- On buses 150/66, 151/66, 155/66, 513/66. Buses run from the stop of the Northern bus station through Chelyuskintsev Street to Kommunarov Square, where you need to get off. Travel time is 18 minutes.
- On trams 3, 7, 23. Travel time - 27 minutes.
- From the bus station to the building of the Youth Palace can be reached on foot through Chelyuskintsev Street. It takes 33 minutes.
From South Bus Station:
- By buses 11, 12, 14, 16, 19. The route runs through the streets of March 8, Malyshev, Kharkov and Lenin Avenue. Travel time is 29 minutes.

From Koltsovo Airport:
- By bus 1, transfer to bus 43. At the Koltsovo airport stop, take bus 1, get to the railway station in Yekaterinburg, transfer to bus 43 and get to Kommunarov Square.

The doors of the Youth Palace in Yekaterinburg are open five days a week: from Monday to Thursday from 8-30 to 17-30, on Friday - until 16-30.
