His head is not too big, so it is more advisable to grow it for greens. The bulb in it has a cylindrical shape, turning into a false stem.

If there is no rain for a long time, then additional watering and weeding with weed removal. In order for the bulb to gain strength, it is not recommended to cut the feathers in the first year. Shoots of onion-batun in the summer must be fed with mullein or mineral fertilizer.
The soil for planting this crop is prepared in advance. But the use of chemicals is not recommended, as this plant is able to accumulate nitrates. From organic fertilizers it is better to use humus or compost, and from mineral fertilizers - superphosphate or ammonium nitrate. It is best to sow dry seeds.
Onion seeds from seeds in the first year after germination can become ill with peronosporosis. This disease manifests itself in the form of pale spots with a gray-violet bloom that spread throughout the stem. This disease can destroy the plant. Dangers can also be expected from the onion mineral larva. This white worm has a size of about 8 mm. Larvae develop and live inside the onion feather, feeding on its tissues. The first signs of the appearance of worms are gray spots. The onion fly, which settles in the bulb, can also cause a lot of harm. The result is spoilage and rot of the crop. Onion weevil lays its larvae inside the stem, and transparent whitish stripes appear on the green.
