Evpatoria: reviews of holidays in this city

The tourists' responses about any geographical point or area are often contradictory, because, as they say, “there is no taste for the color of a fellow traveler”. Reviews about the rest in Yevpatoria are no exception. Enthusiastic odes to sandy beaches alternate with the Philippines that there are no rocks that Crimea is so famous for; and panegyrics of local cheapness contradict the claims that local pensions take more than they deserve. We will try to resolve these contradictions and find out what this Crimean city in the west of the peninsula, located on the shore of the Kalamitsky Gulf, promises to tourists.

First of all, it should be noted that Yevpatoria does not lie in the zone called the Southern Coast of Crimea (South Coast). It is located in the steppe Crimea, which means that there are no mountains, cliffs and bright subtropical vegetation. But there is no pebble here. Gold wide, endless beaches gives its guests Evpatoria. Vacations, reviews of which converge in the positive ratings of the beaches, will also be budgetary. Unlike the small beaches of Yalta or Alushta, the huge multi-kilometer beaches of Yevpatoria, with a few exceptions, are free for vacationers. They are very convenient for children: the child will not get injured on pebbles, will not dislocate his leg, and it is so fun to build castles and fortresses from the sand.

The beach season arrives in Yevpatoriya at the same time as in the South Coast. In May and September, a steppe wind can blow, but off the coast of Yevpatoria the sea is shallow and quickly warms up. Another bonus, which, unlike the resorts of the South Coast, has Evpatoria, reviews are called healing mud. They treat mainly diseases of the musculoskeletal system and are very effective in treating children. In Ukraine, Evpatoria is called a children's resort, and this can be seen not only in the number of children's sanatoriums and camps, but also in the number of kids on the streets. The local mud helps adults too.

In addition to climatic and natural attractions, Evpatoria boasts a history that spans about two and a half thousand years. Kerkinitida in Ancient Greece, Gezlev in the Crimean Khanate - with which historical monuments the traveler Evpatoria does not surprise!

Reviews are full of tales of tekiye (monastery) dervishes. The architectural complex consists of a building with cells and the Shukurl-effendi mosque with the only 27-meter minaret of the 17th century in the city. Another monument of Islamic religious architecture is the Juma-Jami Mosque (Friday Mosque), built in the middle of the 16th century by decree of Khan Devlet-Giray I. This is a functioning temple, but tourists are allowed inside: women are given dressing gowns and scarves at the entrance, men in shorts also asked to wear a bathrobe. One cannot but mention the Karaite kenases. Karaites are one of the smallest peoples of the world. Karaites are of Turkic origin, but profess Judaism. Their religious building (kenasa) is an active temple. The Evpatorian kenases - Cathedral and Small - are famous for their beautiful carvings in the decoration of the interior. Of the Christian monuments, it is worth mentioning the St. Elias Church, which is more than 100 years old.

Tourists believe that, especially compared to the resorts of the South Bank, it is difficult to find a cheaper city than Yevpatoriya. Reviews in this matter are almost unanimous. The city has many resorts and dispensaries, boarding houses, recreation centers and private hotels. There is a wide selection of housing in the private sector, but during the peak season, in August, prices may be overstated due to demand for housing. Vacationers from Ukraine prefer to live in the private sector, buying only coursework in sanatoriums (a course of medical procedures).

In recent years, Evpatoria, reviews of young people about which diverge somewhat, has been enriched by numerous nightclubs, discos and other entertainment venues. However, in this she still lags behind Yalta, Sevastopol and other Crimean resorts, and in the evenings on the streets of the city is quite calm.
