The amazing art of origami: animals. Models for beginners

One of the most interesting and unique types of creativity is the manufacture of paper figures without the help of scissors and glue - the Japanese art of origami. Animals, birds, fish and little people from ordinary colored paper or a banal notebook sheet are easily recognizable and can serve as children's toys, as wonderful souvenirs or wonderful additions to a gift for a friend.

Everything is not so simple in origami: animals and other figures can even move or perform practical tasks - for example, to store small objects (sweets, beads, seeds) in their bowls or pockets. Try to make the original model yourself - and you will almost certainly be carried away by this fashionable and popular hobby the first time.

How to make a horse

  • To fold a cute horse out of paper, take a square sheet and spread it on the table with the color side up. Fold the sheet in half, bend the fold and turn it back, and then bend in the opposite direction.
  • Turn the paper over with the white side up. Fold the sheet in half, bend the crease and repeat the steps in the opposite direction. The folds should form four lines.
  • Using the folds, grab the top three corners of the square and drag them to the fourth, bottom corner. Press and level the model.
  • Pull the outer corners of the top layer of paper toward the center line, then fold the top down and bend it well, then unfold the model.

Shutdown

  • Cut the center line to the top fold on the top layer.
  • Pull the legs up, following the outlined folds. Thus, many animal figures are added. Origami is built on a single paper system.
  • Fold the resulting sections in half towards the center.
  • Turn the model over and repeat the previous steps until you get a kind of tick-bird.
  • Turn the model upside down and bend the β€œwings”, and then deploy it.
  • Bend the tips of the "wings". Now it is the head and tail of a horse. The figurine is ready.

Sitting dog

If you are fond of origami, animals of this level may seem to you an easy task. However, despite the apparent simplicity of the process, the result is a very realistic figure that you can add credibility with brown textured paper.

Beginning of work

  • Prepare a paper square and lay it on the table in the form of a rhombus with the wrong side up. Fold in half from right to left.
  • Fold the sheet and make pockets towards the center line.
  • Fold in half.
  • Bend the fragment of the model approximately in the part where the middle of the figure should be. This is a fairly simple origami technique. Animals made in this way can take the form of both a dog and a wolf or fox.

How to make a model

  • Using the fold, flip and secure the crease in the opposite direction. Bend and unfold again.
  • To make a nose, bend the model twice, and then turn each fold inward.
  • Bend the folds inward again.
  • Iron all folds well. Repeat the steps above at the base of the figure to make a tail.
  • Hide the lower part of the tail on both sides under the body of the animal.

The sitting dog is ready.

Mouse

If you are just starting to understand origami, light animals will be your ideal choice. There is nothing easier than folding a mouse, cat or dog from a standard paper square, however, it should be borne in mind that in this case you will only make the head of a chosen beast. The simplest example is the head of a mouse.

animal figures of origami

  • Take a square sheet of paper, lay it on a diamond-shaped table and bend in half from the top corner to the bottom.
  • Pull the right corner to the center of the resulting triangle, not reaching the line a little.
  • Fold back part of the new part so that the extreme corner is facing up. This is the ear of a mouse.
  • Wrap the bottom fragment of the model under the "head" of the animal.
  • It remains only to finish the eye and nose. Done.

Based on these simple figures, you can independently invent new animal models. The scope for creativity is unlimited, and all you need is a piece of paper.
