There are words that are clearly divided by pronunciation and even by etymology having nothing in common with each other, but when we use the other instead of one of them, we are understood as clearly as if each word was used strictly for its intended purpose. How to accept this - as the infinity of our native language, seeking to fill with shades any meaning, or the sacredness of some words, so powerful that they fit into hundreds of concepts?
Origin of the word
So what is the gist? In his dictionary, Dahl, for the first time, as they say, officially mentioned and in his own way fully disclosed the concept of the word as "self." Until that moment, not only did any meaning of the word “essence” not exist, but its use in live speech implied only one form of the verb “is”.
Those who know English should remember the verb “to be” that is still in use - to be. Just as an assiduous Briton says that “a parrot is a bird”, so Cyril and Methodius, forming a classic Old Slavonic, suggested that “an apple tree is a tree”. Moreover, the word intermediate word in a similar connective meant an affirmation with respect to the third person pronoun. For a long time, the interpretation of what the essence was was based on the emphasis of the first noun in relation to the following.
In other words, it would be strange to hear such bureaucratic absurdity in verses of famous poets, and since it was a living word that formed a spoken language, then the verb combination for some time remained on the paper of the clerical.
The most accurate concept of what essence is is given to us by the Bulgarian language, which explains that “essence” is interpreted only as “soul, essence”.
Essence as the root of truth
Root, source, meaning, grain, beginning, foot, core, bowels, center, quintessence ... all this is one. The essence is disclosed, so it can be the goal: "get to the bottom", they will say then. But it can also become the primary source of the task, which compels us to disclose: “Based on the essence of the goal” is a completely different matter, isn’t it?
In any case, if you do not play with words, this word always means the reason - events, actions, actions. Any synonym, any metaphor that takes you to the depths of the original idea, this is a creature. The beginning of any process is its essence, from which they repel. And the end of the process is the same as the meaning of all the efforts made.
The bottom line is underlining negation
We have to remember Stirlitz with his winged: "It does not matter." “In essence, this is not so important,” an intellectual would say, to paraphrase a scout. “Not So Essential” is a more diplomatic version of the same neglect of an action.
“Not in essence (essence)” - this is how one can circumcise an impudent defendant in court. "That's not the point" - as an argument for the debaters. “It doesn’t matter what it is” is a version for doubters.
As you can see, the modern concept of what the essence is depends on the direction of the conversation and the mutual attitude towards the frequency of the conversation. They can emphasize, deny, affirm, bind; with the help of this word one can agree and doubt. The main thing is to use it on the merits of the conversation and at the same time not to deviate from the essence.
