Before Cosmonautics Day, you can please yourself and your children by creating an interesting paper craft, namely a rocket. It will take not so much time as it seems, but a wonderful origami rocket, and the master class itself, will be remembered for a long time by both children and adults. Interestingly, the resulting beauty can be put on the table, or stand.
What will be needed for work
Before you sit down to work, you must acquire the necessary materials, without which to construct a spacecraft will not work. So, at hand should be:
- a paper sheet having the format A5 or A4;
- scissors;
- a simple pencil;
- ruler.
A few words about the preparatory work.
To create a paper rocket will have to do the necessary preparation of materials. You need to take a sheet of white paper or another selected color with A4 format. Divide it into two halves, which will be needed in the process. The incision can be made along the fold line to get a sheet of A5 in the end.
Step-by-step instruction
How to make an origami rocket for kids:
- You need to bend up the left corner of the paper, located at the bottom of the sheet, so that you get a triangle.
- Use a pair of scissors to cut off a part of the sheet that is not included in the figure; as a result, you get a corner that needs to be bent in half and opened. Now all the same leaf is folded in half so that the bend passes through the central part, and at the end open the craft again.
- The same operation must be done from the opposite side. Now the blank must be opened and folded in half, bending inward the side parts of the sheet according to the existing folds. The result should be a double triangle figure.
- The right corner is bent toward the center along a line intersecting the sheet vertically, then a similar operation is performed with the left side.
- Now the craft must be turned over and the previous paragraph repeated on the reverse side.
- At the next stage, the right side is bent to the center of the future rocket.
- Similar to the above step, but for the sidewall on the left.
- Here you need to bend both sides to the left and, accordingly, to the right to get the lower missile module.
- It is necessary to turn the workpiece over and finish the work from the opposite side, following the previous paragraph.
- At the last stage, you need to carefully straighten the origami rocket from the inside.
Another manufacturing technique
This paper craft option is slightly simpler than the one described above. To work, you need to prepare:
- paper sheet;
- scissors;
- pencils or felt-tip pens.
Step-by-step execution of the craft is as follows:
- You need to take a paper sheet in the shape of a square and fold it in half.
- Each half is also folded in half.
- It is necessary to bend the upper left part of the paper, and then the right (corners) about 1/3 of the entire length of the sheet.
- Then one half is applied at the central part and smoothed.
- Now you need to bend the above half from the middle.
- The opposite edge folds with the first half and also bends.
- At the bottom of the resulting part of the body, you need to make small cuts to bend the corners of the craft.
- At the last stage, you can draw on the body of the rocket origami portholes. For this, pencils or felt-tip pens are needed.

How to make a stronger rocket
The article presented the simplest options on how to make an origami rocket out of paper, but there are other designs. To make the craft more stable and durable, you can use cardboard to form the body, and then paste it with paper of your favorite color.
The body is simple to make: you need to fold the cardboard with a tube and use the glue to fix the parts of the element. Bend a cone from a small piece, which will serve as the nose of the spacecraft, and a couple of small, thin tubes, also made of cardboard, will act as nozzles or engines. Such a beautifully designed craft can stand for a long time in a child’s room, serving as a peculiar and original decoration.
