This happened after Halle Berry, the winner in the nomination for Best Actress, went out to receive a gold Oscar statuette in a spectacular outfit that impressed both the discerning audience in the hall and the millions of viewers who watched the presentation of the film award from television screens. The American actress preferred Elie Saab for the ceremony, choosing a sleeveless evening toilet, consisting of a transparent bodice with luxurious floral embroidery, a long burgundy taffeta skirt and a train made of the same material.

A native of Lebanon, Eli Saab, began to show interest in his future profession as a child, and in 1981 began to study design skills in Paris.
