During the implementation of the New Moscow project, which began in 2011 and envisages expanding the borders of the capital to include adjacent territories, some settlements that no one had heard of before, gained immense popularity nationwide. An example of reincarnation from a small village to a recreation and entertainment center is the village of Krasnaya Pakhra, located on the right bank of the Pakhra River, 18 km from the central part of the city of Podolsk. Today this village is part of the Trinity Administrative District of Moscow.
History
The first mention of the settlement dates back to the 16th century. Moreover, its name was Slobodka. It acquired its real name in 1862 from the Krasnoye estate, which belonged to Daria Nikolaevna Saltykova, better known in history under the nickname Saltychikha, a sadist who tortured several dozen of her serfs to death. The estate has survived to this day. This area is also known for the events of the war of 1812, when Kutuzov, making a false maneuver of retreat from Moscow, deploying his troops, went onto the Kaluga road near Krasnoye. A few days later, the army went to the village of Tarutino, completely blocking the enemy’s access to the food and weapons depots located there. Thus, the Napoleonic troops remained in the captured capital without food and ammunition. From 1927 to 1957, the village of Krasnaya Pakhra was a district center.

In recent years, the village has become one of the most popular places for recreation and sports among Muscovites and residents of neighboring settlements. The picturesque countryside, clean river and developing infrastructure allow you to have a great weekend or a whole vacation. According to the 2010 census, the local population is 2,440 people.
Infrastructure
Krasnaya Pakhra is known for its newly built and finished cottages, which are in demand among wealthy citizens. To have such housing in an ecologically clean place, less than 50 km from Moscow, in the presence of a beautiful road and car is very convenient. In addition, the village has its own secondary school, an art school for children, a recreation center Zvezdny, where more than 30 clubs and clubs operate, as well as various creative and sports events. With the influx of holidaymakers, small business began to strengthen. Private hotels and shopping centers are being built, shops and cafes are opening.
A park
In 2013, the Krasnaya Pakhra sports and entertainment park was opened here. The recreation area covers an area of 12 hectares, where tennis courts, basketball and football fields with artificial turf are located. Every weekend, the park is visited by about 10 thousand people. An existing ski slope with a length of about 2 km was updated. There is also a BMX-cycle track, specially equipped for international competitions. It was in this place that the Russian BMX Championship was held in 2009.
River and beach
The park also includes the Krasnaya Pakhra marina, beach and parking lot. The river bed in the area of the village was previously cleared for small vessels. And also sand was brought in to improve the beach. Boat stations and places for fishing are equipped on the shore. Two bridges were built across the river, connecting the recreation area with parking for 250 cars. Another car park for 75 cars is located directly at the entrance to the park. Along the river are equipped walking areas with asphalt paths where you can ride bicycles, rollers, skateboards.
Sanatorium
Another popular object in the village of Krasnaya Pakhra is a sanatorium for children with cardiac rheumatic diseases. Although it is operational, it is being reconstructed now. By the end of 2014, it is planned to complete all work. The total area of the territory is 22.5 thousand square meters. 4 new medical buildings were completed: cardiological, oncohematological, endocrinological and medical services. All of them are connected into a single system through pedestrian galleries. The first floors of the complex are occupied by physiotherapy exercises and medical rooms, and on the 2nd and 3rd floors there are 2-4-bed living rooms with huge loggias and bathrooms. Children's playgrounds and a dining room are being built. The updated sanatorium will be able to accept up to 250 patients at a time.
Development prospects
In the future, according to the assurances of the Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov, it is planned to continue to develop the infrastructure of Krasnaya Pakhra and the whole of New Moscow. In the coming years, several more sports and entertainment parks will be broken down, and the number of beaches will increase. And already in 2015-2016 it is planned to carry out the metro to this area.

It’s easy to get to the picturesque village of Krasnaya Pakhra. Every day, buses run from the Teply Stan metro station under numbers 508, 512, 513, 514, 515 and 531. You can also take minibuses. The number of stops is 24. The time spent traveling by bus does not exceed one hour.
