The core is enclosed in an insulating sheath that protects against contact with the screen.
The screen is made of aluminum in the form of a foil that completely covers the inner shell of the insulation. On top is the main insulation to protect against the external environment and mechanical damage.
When choosing an antenna cable, you should pay attention to the marking, namely the number 75. It means the frequency of the resistance waves of the cable, located on the cable next to the meter value. Also, when searching for a suitable antenna plug, it is recommended to purchase type F. Such connectors are designed for both analog and digital broadcasting of television programs, they are performed in different diameters, depending on operating conditions.
Cable preparation
In order to proceed with the installation of the antenna plug, you must have all the necessary parts and a clerical knife. There are two installation methods: with wrapping the shielding braid and without inversion. For better picture quality of television broadcasts, the screen must be wrapped along the cable in the opposite direction:
- Using a clerical knife, cut the main insulation by about 1 cm, then completely remove it.
- The screen braid is wrapped in the opposite direction along the cable.
- After they remove the core from internal insulation by 1 cm, then wind the antenna plug.
- Using nippers, bite off the central wire so that it protrudes 0.4 cm from the union nut.
- Then the second part is screwed onto the plug until it stops.
The connector is ready for use for receiving both analog and digital broadcasting of television programs.
Features of connecting to a TV
In order to connect the antenna plug to the TV, you must have a type F connector. It is worth paying attention to the fact that if the user does not understand the connection of the plug, he should consult a specialist, because if installed incorrectly, the analog and digital signals can work poorly and distort TV picture.
When choosing a cable for connecting the antenna, you must pay attention to the signal current resistance. Cables with a resistance of 75 Ohms are widely used, they transmit the signal with the highest quality without significant losses. For pendant mounting of the TV, it is recommended to use an angular antenna plug.
