There are many sports facilities in Moscow , so it is difficult to surprise the townspeople with the appearance of the next of them. Located in the area of the ZIL automobile plant, the Arena of Legends ice palace has a number of features. They distinguish it from the most modern structures of the capital.
The official opening of the complex took place at the end of April 2015. On this day, it was officially named the VTB Ice Palace, although Muscovites more often call this building the “Arena of Legends”. In 2017, the Russian businessman A. Rotenberg bought the arena from the TEN group of companies.
Description of the complex
The Arena of Legends ice palace was created for competitions of various levels (including international) in figure skating and ice hockey. The complex consists of three sites:
- small arena with 3,500 seats;
- large arena with 12.1 thousand seats;
- training designed for 500 spectators.
Such multifunctionality, which was originally included in the project, had an impact on the architecture and layout of the Arena of Legends ice palace. It is designed so that events can be held in all arenas at the same time. The construction consists of two rectangular volumes, which are visually combined into one main facade. It is presented in the form of a kind of ice mantle, to the brilliance of the polished surface of the ice rink. Only abstract thin strokes-strokes, which are left on the ice with the skates of athletes, violate its transparency.
This decor is typical for the entire surface of the facade. Drawing on glass was applied by the method of multi-plane printing. The theme of ice continues with the colors of glass, which gradient change within the gray-bluish palette. Strokes were also used in the design of stair railings that connect the arenas. Such strokes were applied to metallic snow-white surfaces by the method of perforation. This gave the stairs the dynamism inherent in all competitions on ice.
The Arena of Legends ice palace in Moscow is the home venue of the metropolitan hockey club Dynamo, as well as (since the 2017/2018 season) HC Spartak.
Complex Features
This palace is the largest complex in our country, which accommodates three arenas under one roof. The peculiarity of the Arena of Legends ice palace can be considered the presence of transformer arenas capable of not only hosting major ice competitions in the shortest possible time, but also holding enchanting shows and concerts.
The hockey complex differs from similar structures in the four-sided seamless LED media cube, which has no analogues in Russia. It is capable of displaying an image with an overview of 180 to 360 ° in HD. The area of this cube is more than 100 square meters. m, with a screen size of 5 x 6 meters.
How to get there
Ice Palace "Arena of Legends", whose address is: st. Avtozavodskaya, 23 A, is located next to the Avtozavodskaya metro station.
After leaving the subway at this station, turn left (towards the third transport ring) and go to the pedestrian crossing (above ground). On it, go to the opposite side of the road and go straight about fifty meters, following the sign "Park of Legends."
