Or rags of volunteers who volunteered to participate in an experiment that led to their transformation into a creature called a burer. A stalker wandering into a secluded laboratory runs the risk of stumbling upon this bloodthirsty mutant.
These insidious creatures also cause sound hallucinations. People hear the cry of a child. It is curious that this very sound was also used in the Metro 2033 game.
Burers live in flocks, prefer to eat carrion, they can talk, which indicates partially preserved fragments of consciousness. The rudiments of religion, noticed by some stalkers (who were lucky enough to escape alive from the trap of the burer), speak of the same thing - these creatures drag all sorts of banks, flasks and other rubbish into their lairs. They build from them a semblance of an altar and do something like ritual dances around them.
It was noticed that when the burer wins the fight, he sits in the lotus position next to the body of the deceased stalker and mumbles something. Someone claims that the being reads a prayer, and some think that he is asking for forgiveness.
It is believed that these dwarfs are not hostile to mutants such as the controller or kink. Perhaps due to the fact that they are all the results of an unsuccessful experiment to create universal soldiers.

With a telekinetic impulse, the dwarf can grab a weapon from the player’s hands. Usually they kill him with a knife. But you shouldn’t immediately run right up close - you will throw it away with the same impulse, and even it will seal the heavier.
