The use of wallpaper for ceiling decoration is a great alternative to painting and has long been actively used in decorating the room.

Wallpapering the ceiling is a great option for decorating the room. Wallpaper on the ceiling can be used not only in traditional white, but also in various other colors, with a pattern or photo printing. It is worth noting that such wallpapers will look spectacular on one of the walls, and the rest should be made plain. Wallpaper that will be glued to the ceiling must be durable light and moisture resistant. For rooms where heat or sound insulation is required, it is recommended to use wallpaper on a textile basis. However, they strongly absorb odors. If, after pasting, it is planned to do painting, then it is better to use wallpaper specially designed for this.
Before you paste the wallpaper on the ceiling, you first need to carefully prepare it: remove the old finish, putty the bumps and cracks (if any), go over with a “skin”, and then with a primer. As a soil, you can use wallpaper glue. Tip: old wallpapers are easier to remove if you make cuts on them with a spatula and moisten with soapy water, and lime moistened with hot water using a flange is much easier to wash off from the ceiling surface. Wallpaper cutting is done before starting work. The length of the sheets should be taken with a margin of about 5-10 cm to the final size. If wallpaper on the ceiling with a picture is used, then it is necessary to perform cutting so that it matches. A more suitable wallpaper glue is indicated on the roll packaging.
Next, you need to make markings on the ceiling for sheets, and then apply glue directly to the sheets of wallpaper. Glue is correctly applied to the middle of the sheet, distributing evenly along the entire length. Particularly carefully should be smeared with corners and allowed to soak with glue. The ends are bent into the inside. It is worth noting that if the wallpaper is thick, then the glue is applied in two layers. If non-woven wallpaper is used on the ceiling, then glue is applied directly to it.
Sticking is best done together. One person holds the still non-glued canvas, and the second puts it on the ceiling and spreads it. When the wallpaper sheet is glued to the surface, it is smoothed in the direction from the middle to the edges with a special brush. The next sheet is glued, focusing on the edges of the previous one.
At the junction of the surface of the ceiling and the wall, the edge of the wallpaper is pressed in by the non-sharp side of the scissors and slightly extended. This will determine the cut line of the excess part. In places where it is planned to output under the lighting device, a cross-shaped incision is made.
After the wallpaper is pasted on the ceiling, try to avoid drafts in the room.
