In all works where the load needs to be raised to a small height, a hydraulic jack is used.
Most often it can be seen in locksmith workshops, on construction sites, in equipment repair shops.
But, as in any other mechanism, failures occur in its operation, and then repair of the
hydraulic jack is inevitable.
The unit runs on liquid, so the main malfunction of such a lifting mechanism is oil leakage. Due to the insufficient amount of oil, air enters the working cavity, which slows down or makes impossible the operation of the lift.
The problems you have can be solved in one of three ways:
- contact the workshop;
- do the repair of the hydraulic jack with your own hands ;
- throw away the old gear and buy a new one.
Most often, the simplest and least expensive method is chosen - self-repair.
To find out the cause of the breakdown, the jack must be disassembled. Old liquid is drained into a specially prepared container. Next, remove the pistons and inspect them for rust.
The most important detail in the design of the jacks is the stem. It is checked for bending. If there is a deformation, then it can be stated with confidence - repair of a hydraulic jack is impossible.
It is necessary to examine the valve passing the oil. It can also fail due to mechanical deformation. In this case, it is replaced with a new one. But more often than not, the valve is just dirty, the ball does not fit tightly in the saddle, which is why fluid leaks.
Having disassembled the jack, rinse thoroughly all parts from dirt and oil residues.
Used oil must be drained by pumping the system with vertical movements of the lever.
If there are cuffs, gaskets and other sealing parts, they must be completely replaced with new ones. Why is this done? In any previously used gasket there is already a defect, even if it is not visible, which will necessarily appear with increasing pressure.
Fresh oil is poured. This completes the repair of the hydraulic jack.
Important. Before assembling the jack, it must be
pumped. Pumping will remove the remaining air from the system. If you forget to do this, the performance of the mechanism will drop, or it will not work at all.
If you do not have full confidence that you will be able to carry out a quality repair, take the device to the workshop.
Repair of hydraulic jacks is a troublesome task, therefore only specially trained people will carry out repairs efficiently and with a guarantee of this quality.

- determine the carrying capacity;
- select the maximum lifting height;
- take into account the height of the pickup;
- select the type of drive;
- choose a brand.
