To begin with, any Minecraft player who wants to find a path to a randomly generated fortress must have a special resource in their inventory called Eye of the Edge. About it below.
What is the Eye of the Edge?
This resource is usually used to search for portals leading to Ender and various fortresses. An eye can be crafted from special pearls and fiery powder, the production of which we will discuss later. When using an artifact, if you right-click on it (RMB), it begins to sparkle with purple particles. Similar can be seen when meeting with the Wanderer of the Land (Enderman). One Eye can be used no more than 2-4 times, after which it simply disappears.
What is needed for crafting?
Before wondering how to find a fortress in Minecraft, we recommend that you first take care of creating this Eye. To do this, you will have to track down and catch as many of the Wanderers of the Land as possible, or, as they are also called, Endermen. After death, these mobs drop a special pearl, which is one of the two main ingredients for creating the Eye. Once our character has enough pearls, we can proceed to the next step - descent to the Lower World.
There we will have to face Ifrites - hostile mobs that leave fire (ifrit) rods after their death. We collect as many rods as possible and put them in a workbench so that we can get a mixture of fiery powder.
Crafting the Eye of the Edge occurs as follows: first we take the fiery powder and pearls collected earlier from the Endermen, and then place them in a workbench. In such a simple way, you can get this artifact, which will be useful to us in the further search for fortresses.
How to find a fortress in Minecraft?
As we said earlier, Eye is used in the game to search for portals and various fortresses with random generation. We take one ready Eye in our hands and click on it with the right mouse button. After that, the artifact should fly up and head towards one of the nearest portals. Three seconds later, the Eye of the Edge will complete its flight and either fall back to the ground, where it can be picked up again, or it will be transferred to the measurement of the Edge (Ender).
Additional Information
For a more accurate search, you will have to repeatedly use the same artifact (see "How to find a fortress in Minecraft"). Since one Eye can be used no more than 2-4 times, there is a possibility that at the most crucial moment (consider it, inside the fortress) we will be left without an artifact. That is why, before embarking on a journey, the best solution would be to craft as many Eye of the Edge as possible. In addition to finding a fortress, this artifact is also useful for activating portals leading to Ender. After we find one of these portals, it will need to be “charged” with the help of Eye of the Edge. To do this, you will have to put several artifacts in the blocks that form the portal frame.
