Republic's Birthday

If you look at the geographical map of this region, you can see that the new republic is located in the central part of the foothills, is divided into four administrative regions and the same number of cities that have the status of republican subordination.

The birthday of the Republic of Ingushetia is considered June 4, 1992. It is characteristic that only after three years from this date began the construction of the capital of Magas, more precisely, its revival. Once, about seven centuries ago, a city stood on this site. In those days, mountaineers of all nationalities living in the North Caucasus considered Magas their capital. The name of the administrative center of Ingushetia, translated from Vainakh language, sounds like "the city of the sun." Few know about this, and not everyone can answer what the flag of the Republic of Ingushetia looks like.

The term "Ingush" came to the Russian language in the 18th century. The area where these mountaineers lived is derived from Angusht (a village in the North Caucasus) and the suffix -eti, which is of Georgian origin. Between themselves, the Ingush call themselves nothing more than Gіalgіay. This inscription is contained in the image of the coat of arms of the republic. According to one version, the word should be interpreted as "builder", according to another - in ancient times, Vainakh pagans worshiped the deity Gel.

The coat of arms of the Republic of Ingushetia consists of two circles nested into each other. In the inner circle is an image of an eagle that has completely spread its wings in different directions. In the background behind the eagle you can see the battle tower. An imaginary vertical line runs through its center. The construction is a kind of historical bridge between ancient Ingushetia and the modern young republic.

On both sides of the tower you can see the snow-white silhouettes of the mountains, the names of which in the Ingush language sound like Maat Loam and Bash Loam. Accordingly, in the Russian version, Table or Refectory Mountain (to the left of the tower) and Kazbek (to the right). At the very top of the inner circle, just above the tower, a semicircle of the sun is drawn, from which seven rays of conical shape diverge evenly in all directions. On the opposite side of the smaller circle under the eagle is an image of a solar sign.

Above, between the outer and inner circles, on a white background, in capital letters of red color, is the text: “Republic of Ingushetia”, below - “GІALGIIAY MOKHK”. The design of the republican state sign was carried out by Eldiev Ruslan Alimovich. The coat of arms and flag of Ingushetia is used as a symbol that is respected and revered.

Color scheme present in the coat of arms image

When drawing an eagle, a tower, a solar semicircle with rays and ornaments, the artist used a golden yellow color against a sky-blue background.

The circle of the solar sign is green, and the rays are red. Also green are three arcs between it and the eagle. The official symbol of the republic was the efforts of its author the embodiment of the idea of justice and the centuries-old struggle of the Ingush for independence. The flag of Ingushetia also has its own designation.

What is the meaning of the symbols of the Republic of Ingushetia?

For highlanders, the eagle is primarily a courageous and noble bird. Traits such as loyalty and wisdom were also attributed to the eagle. His presence on the emblem indicates that statesmen should make informed decisions.

The yellow silhouette of the sun and its rays has always been associated with the maintenance of life and material wealth. This is especially characteristic of the Caucasus region, which nature generously endowed with sunlight. The next element - the battle tower - suggests that for a long time it was these fortifications in the mountains that served as the stronghold of the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. But the sun contains both the coat of arms and the flag of Ingushetia. Photos of state signs can be found in our article.

In the three arched rays of the solar sign, which are curved in the counterclockwise direction, the following meaning is laid. Earth and the Sun are in continuous motion, the world around is endless, and all its subjects and phenomena are interconnected. From Latin, solaris is translated as “sunny”. Therefore, it can be argued that the solar sign is one of the types of images of the sun, which in turn is linked by Caucasians to fertile agriculture. The same symbol is also present on the flag.

Flag cloth

In the same year, when the Republic of Ingushetia appeared on the political map, the leadership approved the national flag with its inclusion in the Heraldic Register. But only in 2014 it was decided to celebrate Flag Day on July 14.

The cloth is rectangular in shape, the length of which corresponds to a width of three to two. Two narrow green stripes, stretching along the entire length, two narrow green stripes (occupy only a sixth of the width). They are separated by a wide white stripe with a solar sign in the center. The flag of Ingushetia is used on all holidays of the republic.

White color in symbolism is associated with pure thoughts, and the green color, which Muslims traditionally prefer, means fertility and prosperity. This designation has the flag of Ingushetia.
