Do-it-yourself pillow sheep: from simple to complex

Do you like to update the interior? Do you like cute little things for the house? A great accessory for decorating a sofa is a lamb pillow. With your own hands you can make very simple and at the same time original options.

To make a beautiful do-it-yourself pillow sheep, you need to plan your work and buy everything you need.

The following should be prepared:

• several types and shades of fabric in accordance with the parts of the animal;
• paper for a pattern and a pencil;
• scissors;
• safety pins ;
• chalk for transferring contours to fabric;
• needle with thread;
• sewing machine;
• stuff for stuffing;
• decorative elements (optional).

All this will come in handy, regardless of which method of making a soft accessory you choose.

Sheep pillow: how to do it yourself

There can be several manufacturing methods:

• rectangular shape with applique;
• square product with flat feet and a muzzle sewn on;
• regular pillow with a voluminous head;
• soft toy of the appropriate size.

The options are located in the list according to the degree of complexity of the work and the manufacture of the pattern. If you show patience, even a beginner can cope with any method.

The easiest option

For the first time decided to start sewing? Of course you want a beautiful lamb pillow? Do it yourself with your own hands. Make an accessory of standard square or rectangular shape and decorate it with the muzzle of a sheep, eyes, ears, etc.

The sequence will be as follows:

1. Cut a rectangle from the fabric, mark where the fold line will go.
2. Prepare the remaining parts and sew them in a zigzag seam to the front of the pillow.
3. Turn the workpiece inside out, stitch the seams, leaving a “hole” for turning out.
4. Put filler inside the pillowcase.
5. Sew the hole carefully.

Simple pillow with volumetric elements

Here the option is a bit more complicated. You will get a more realistic lamb pillow.

Patterns will be required for additional elements, each of which will be stitched from two or more parts.
Work like this:

1. Make patterns of paws, ears, muzzle and its parts.
   
   
2. Cut out all the details in the appropriate amount.
3. Sew the individual elements on the wrong side, followed by turning and packing.
4. Take a rectangular flap of fabric, mark the fold line.
5. Stitch or sew manually in appropriate places the executed volume preparations.
6. Further, everything is performed in the same sequence as in any other case (a line from the inside, turning out, stuffing, sewing holes).

If you have a great eye and experience with fabric, you may not need patterns. If these skills are not available, then it is better to first build blanks from paper and, pin them with pins to the fabric, circle them around with allowance for seams and cut them out. In this case, you will get a neat pillow-sheep with your own hands!

Patterns you can take ready-made or draw details yourself by photo or imagination. Still, your sofa will be decorated with a cartoon character, not a zoological exposition. For the base, that is, the pillowcase itself, you will need a template only if you stop the choice on a complex form.

It makes no sense to draw a square and a rectangle, but a circle, an oval, a shape with a wavy edge should be made first of paper.

If you need a lamb- like pillow resembling a realistic animal , patterns will definitely be required.

In this case, you can use the template for a soft toy.

Such a thing will consist of different parts, which in the process of stitching will form a three-dimensional figure of the animal.

Two pillows on one pattern

As you can see in the photo below, you can create a cute couple for the selected template. In the image, animals (soft toys) differ in color, but if you put more filler inside, the sheep will acquire volume and convex shapes and will look completely different.

To make such a thing, do the following:

1. Cut parts to allowance.
   
2. Sew small elements on the wrong side, twist, stuff.
3. Connect both body parts and grind on the front side. The decorative edge remains outside.
4. Fill the product through the small hole left in the previous step, sew it up.
   
5. Place all other parts in the right places.

Make the second pillow using the same technology, but from a different shade basis. Get an original decoration for the room.
