Among all types of carps, the most valuable and desired trophy for a fisherman is considered to be a mirror one. He is much larger than many of his brothers, but his scales, on the contrary, are much smaller. Catching a mirror fish is not easy. This will require a lot of patience, dexterity and caution.
Specular fish
Today, about 27 species of carps are known. Mirror view appeared in the XIX century. It was bred artificially and quickly spread to fresh water in Europe and Central Asia.
The body of the carp is rounded elongated, and on the back there is a small hump. The upper torso is darker than the lower. Usually it is painted in dark green shades, and the abdomen and sides are copper or yellowish. It is easy to distinguish fish from other representatives of the genus by large scales, which are rarely located on the body. Mirror fish grows rapidly and can reach 30 to 100 centimeters in length. Its weight varies from 500 grams to 10-20 kilograms. The record holder among all the caught carps weighed about 50 kilograms.
Carp fishing
It is more difficult to catch mirror fish than other carps. She is extremely cautious and afraid of even a minimal rustle. The fisherman should be extremely careful and not make sudden movements. You can choose the most diverse bait. In addition to ordinary peas, worms, dough and maggots, carp can appreciate even cucumber or berries.
Mirror Carp - the fish is very demanding and finicky. It is sensitive to weather changes. Due to any jump in pressure or temperature, he becomes passive and loses his appetite. The carp feels best in warm, but oxygenated water. He avoids great depths and keeps aground. For movements, he usually chooses standard paths and feeding places, so luck in fishing depends largely on the right choice of place.
The "hunt" for carp begins in May, and ends in mid-autumn. The peak of fish activity occurs in August-September, when they prepare for the upcoming cold weather. It is better to catch them in the morning or closer to night, but in the afternoon the chances are much less.
