In fact, television and radio workers work tirelessly for days, they are in constant tension so as not to make a mistake on the air and retake the failed frame hundreds of times. To support and pay tribute to this area, Radio, Television and Communications Day was introduced in Russia.

Significant date

May 7 is the day of radio and television. This date was not chosen by chance. It was on May 7, 1895, that the famous physicist Alexander Popov demonstrated to members of the physicochemical society the process of wireless registration at a distance of electromagnetic waves by the action of a lightning discharge on the simplest receiver that he assembled. Before the Day of Television and Radio began to be celebrated annually, it was first celebrated in 1925 on the territory of the USSR.

In addition to representatives of these professions, the holiday is celebrated with pleasure by all people related to the timely informing of people. Teachers and students of the radiophysical faculty of this university greatly appreciate the history of the origin of their profession.

With a festive concert and evening of meetings, the Day of Television and Radio Workers is celebrated at the Radio Engineering University of Taganrog.

Do not forget about their professional holiday at the Radio Engineering University of Ryazan. Here, the Day of Television and Radio begins with a procession on the night of May 7th. This action takes place around the monument to the great Russian physicist Popov, located on the territory of the university. Students and teachers begin their greeting on this day with the words: “Popov has risen.” In response to this phrase is always heard: "Truly Popov." As gifts on this day, it is customary to use radio tubes painted in different colors. The night part of this event did not always arouse approval from the city administration, and since 2012 it has become banned.

Students of the Tomsk Radio Institute also annually celebrate Television and Radio Day. Their tradition is the annual festive procession through the streets of their hometown. In 2001, this event was even given the status of a city. Also, students of this university on this day say goodbye to faulty equipment. Thanks to this tradition, this event was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. According to official figures, this year students said goodbye to more than 500 units of faulty equipment.

The place of celebration of this memorable date is not only the former republics of the USSR , but also Bulgaria.
