After all, mushrooms, like a sponge, absorb all the toxic substances that are in the environment. That is why it is impossible to collect them in a city where there are a lot of cars, the air is filled with exhaust gases and waste from hazardous industries. The same can be said of the areas adjacent to industrial enterprises.
In addition, some mushroom pickers neglect one more rule: do not pick mushrooms near power lines. People believe that nothing terrible can happen, because, it would seem, they do not emit any chemicals. However, it is worth recalling the lessons of physics in order to understand that power lines form a strong electromagnetic field, which inevitably affects any organism, including fungi.
Therefore, when deciding where to go for mushrooms, it is worth choosing an environmentally friendly place. Of course, in the modern world this is very difficult to find, but still possible. And in our time, you can find an area where the forest really looks like a forest, where birds sing, ants crawl and bees buzz.

They hardly complicated their lives in search of ecologically clean places. Most likely, their goods were just collected in the nearest urban landing or near the highway.
