Not so long ago, the procedure for cooling the body when visiting the steam room required the preparation of numerous containers with cold water. Today, for this, a special bathing device is most often used, presented in the form of a bucket mounted on movable brackets. The tank is automatically filled with tap water after each use.
Principle of operation
The bath spout is operated by applying the principle characteristic of the drain tanks. The cycle includes several stages:
- The empty tank is filled with tap water by opening the ball valve. Upon reaching the maximum level, the flow is blocked by a float switch.
- Capacity overturns by pulling chain or rope. The float moves down, which leads to the next filling of a bucket or tub.
- If necessary to prevent emergency situations, the water tap is shut off.

To make a device for dousing with cold water, it is necessary to prepare a capacious wooden, plastic or metal bucket, which is suitable for mounting a float switch. Reliable brackets that can support the weight of a container filled to the brim with water will also be required.
Connecting the bath spout to the water supply will be a flexible hose inlet. The source of water can be not only a centralized pressure system, but also a volumetric bucket, barrel, well or well. However, this will require the installation of a pump that will allow the fluid to rise through the hose.
The differences in the design will be due to several factors: the material of the container, the source of water, the nature of the walls in the room, to which fixtures and brackets will adapt.

As well as a container for steaming brooms, the dousing device (real professionals try to buy everything they need in the bathhouse) needs special care. Despite the presence of a float valve, which provides replenishment of the tank with water, the walls of the wooden bucket, taken as the basis of the device, can dry out. In turn, this leads to leaks, and eventually - to the need to replace the tank.
In order for the bathing device to serve for the longest possible time, it is necessary to avoid closing the shut-off valve during the bathing procedures. It is recommended to fill the tank with water a few hours before heating up the steam room. Thus, the wood will swell, which will lead to the elimination of gaps and cracks in the structure in a natural way. True, these recommendations do not apply to the use of devices in the form of a plastic or metal container.
