The history of the word "jeans" goes back to the 19th century, when the colonization of American lands grew into world emigration. Many talented artisans and inventors traveled to a golden country for their dreams. Among them was the son of the Jewish tailor Levi Strauss, who arrived in San Francisco on a gold mine, not having a penny for his soul.
At that time, hard workers, digging pits and in need of durable clothes, were worn out by the heat in woolen trousers. Others were easy to tear to pieces or difficult to tear off. This is where the story of the word jeans begins.
The fabric from which the first denim trousers were sewn was intended for workers' tents. However, the model was so successful that tailoring began on an industrial scale. The color “indigo” is forever fixed to jeans, and Levi Strauss has organized to this day a successful transnational corporation.
The history of the word “jeans” has come to be associated with reliability, style and success. Cowboys and gold miners have long been featured in advertisements for these products. These jeans were also remembered by Soviet students, whose wardrobe they began to enter in the seventies. No matter how the party tried to root out the jeans, they turned out to be immortal and every year they only gained popularity, remaining in our days the most common and universal clothing.

But there is no point in talking about styles, now every designer sees them differently. Someone introduces shortened models into fashion, while someone, on the contrary, prefers a “male” fit. Over time, all the same, the main types of jeans stood out:
- regular fit - the same five-pocket classic with which Levi Strauss conquered the world;
- easy fit - tight in the hips, slightly narrowed to the bottom;
- relaxed fit - loose fit, possible flare from the hip;
- skinny - narrow, tight-fitting;
- low waist - pants with a low waist;
- baggy - very wide or baggy pants, a variety of which are women's boyfriend fit jeans, repeating the male style;
- jegins - a cross between stretch jeans and leggings.
Now there are many variations with prints, lace, metal rivets. At least one pair of jeans must be in the wardrobe of any person.
