Among the poetic works of Yulia Drunina dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, there is one about girls who performed an important task behind enemy lines. The theme of women at the front is close to the poetess, she is familiar with the material firsthand. The verse "Ballad about the landing" is so piercing that it was written by a bold man to recklessness, who at the same time possesses a very fine mental organization. It is very difficult for such people to live, but real happiness is available to them.
Short biography of the author
Drunina Julia Vladimirovna was lucky to be born in a very intelligent family: her father taught history, and her mother was a librarian, part-time teaching children music. The girl began to write poems early, and who knows what her works would be (most likely romantic and languidly beautiful), if not for the war. Julia added a year to her statement and became a nurse. After the air raid, she, having lost her way, fell into a small detachment of the Red Army, leaving the encirclement, almost completely dead. The transferred tests inspired her to the first military verses. The sick father insisted on evacuation, but after his death from a stroke, the girl again went to the front, having learned to be a nurse. Drunin ended the war with the foreman of the medical service, the holder of the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Courage". The war did not spare the girl, the consequences of wounds and shell shock made her disabled. In 1944, after an unsuccessful first attempt, she prepares for the Literary Institute, then enters it, marries, gives birth to a daughter (1946). In the first post-war years, poetry Drunina begin to print. Success was accompanied by the poetess, well-known composers composed songs in her texts in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. all new collections came out. In one of them I saw the light and the verse "Ballad about the landing." Drunina became one of the most famous poets in the USSR.
The second time she married (after the divorce) for Alexei Yakovlevich Kapler, a famous screenwriter. The marriage was very happy. The loss of her husband in 1979 was a real tragedy for the poetess. The collapse of the country, the crisis of spiritual guidelines of the early nineties broke a middle-aged woman. Locked in the garage, she was poisoned by exhaust fumes, leaving a farewell note. However, the reasons for her departure were not a secret, she said goodbye to people close to her and admirers of her talent in later verses.

Woman is not made for war. Anything, but not that. Her nature is destined to live for the sake of family, children, home, favorite work, finally. But this, at first glance, an indisputable statement can be objected: “But what, is man by nature intended for the death and murder of his own kind? Does he not want peaceful work, love and happiness? ” Of course, the pursuit of peace is also natural for him. But the poem "Ballad about the landing" is not written about men, and not even about adult women. This is a simple story about very young girls - recent schoolgirls, who were fourteen. The author describes them briefly, calling them singers and talkers and not going into details.

Julia Drunina precedes the poetic story with an introduction of two lines. She assures the reader of her intention to calmly and even dryly (in the sense of without tears and sobs) tell about peers. She referred herself to this generation, to those who were sixteen-eighteen in those terrible years. It is about them "Ballad of the landing." An analysis of the situation that arose on the plane before the landing allows us to judge that the girls did not pass sensible training, for some of them, perhaps this was the first jump made not from a parachute tower. “Mommy!” one of them exhales in a thin voice. The girl is scared, it is impossible to hide it. The pilot turned white, he feels guilty for the mortal risk of these young creatures, whom everything in life should have yet to come - and dates, and first kisses, and walks under the moonlight. Time of action
There is no doubt that the action of the poem “Ballad about the landing” takes place during the Great Patriotic War. But when and where? There are direct author directions to this question. The scene is Crimea, time is January. What year? During the defense of Sevastopol (1942), the Soviet troops did not make sense to throw parachute troops behind the Germans. He could not have completed the combat mission and somehow influenced the course of the war. Landing forces produce during offensive operations. In the fall of 1943, our troops came close to the Crimea, creating the danger of a new "boiler", like Stalingrad. It was then, at the end of 1943 and the beginning of 1944 that the landings, sea and air, landed. Fierce battles were fought in the Kerch region, and the possession, albeit temporary, of initiative played into the hands of the command. In fact, the outcome of the war was already a foregone conclusion. But people died, including the girls who would still sit at the desk. The Ballad of Landing tells of one of these tragedies. Perhaps the paratroopers were sent just to distract the Germans from some other, more important operation. This is the logic of war, as it happened.
Plot development
What happened to the girls who survived and landed in the enemy rear is described, as promised in the first lines, dryly and calmly, although a strong emotional intensity is guessed in this laconicism. A shower curtain covered the saboteurs. Nothing is said about how they got wet, where they spent the night several times in a row. Judging by the text, there was nothing for them; they were surrounded by a hostile forest. I had to crawl on my knees, knocking them on stones to blood. But not about that ballad. About landing she. The girls were looking for their squad. Where? What are the signs? If this detachment was partisan, then the Germans could not find it together with local collaborators. And the girls, as is clear from the finale, were able to. Although it is possible that not everyone reached it.
Memory
The poem “Ballad about the landing” is crowned with a vivid image of three stars in the Crimean night sky, who continued to shine on the surviving paratroopers and helped the girls overcome the despair that must have visited their souls more than once during this terrible raid on German rear. They accomplished their feat in memory of their friends and millions of other people who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for their homeland. Not a single death was meaningless, faith in it gave strength and helped to survive both these girls, and Julia Drunina herself, when she, wounded, saved the soldiers on the front line. And these stars shone for her.
