At the end of each school year, for a long time, teachers of literature gave their students a list of literature for reading in the summer. And each student made at least minimal efforts to conquer him. Naturally, only the most diligent readers mastered the entire list of literature for the summer.
Today we will not only indicate the class-by-class distribution of school literature for students in grades 5–8, but also give tips on how a diligent student can read a maximum of works. After all, further progress and the amount of work done to prepare for classes depend on how much will be read. Therefore, we arm ourselves with a list of literature for the summer, so that it is easier in the school year.
We will present you an approximate set of works and authors, which is most often found in the curriculum. Check with your teachers. But remember that an additionally read book will never be superfluous.
5th Grade Literature Software
The summer literature list for students moving from 4th grade to 5th can be divided into four sections:
1. Tales and myths. In this section, the myths of ancient Greece are highlighted, which will help to form a student's personal idea of the development of culture and art. In addition, they learn about heroes, gods, about the life of a simple person. Russian folk tales will contribute to the formation of the cultural and educational level of the student.
2. The works of the Golden Age of Russian literature: the 19th century. The Russian school includes the following works of classics in the summer literature list.
Given the small volumes of poems, we did not include them in the list, since you need to spend time wisely, and the lyrics can be read in the school period.
3. Works of the Soviet period: 20th century. This section includes the following list:
4. Works of foreign classics. This section is not characterized by a permanent list of literature for the summer: they are studied if the main list, including domestic writers, has been passed. However, it has been observed that some authors consistently enter the school curriculum.
Software works on literature for the 6th grade
The list of summer literature “School of Russia” (GEF) includes works by Russian classics of the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a noticeable tendency toward an older, understanding and thinking student.
Software works on literature for the 7th grade
The list of summer literature for students moving from 6th grade to 7th has the same conditional division as when transferred to 5th:
- Russian folklore.
- Works of the Golden Age of Russian Literature: 19th Century.
- Works of the Soviet period: 20th century.
- The works of foreign classics.
As before, in summer, in addition to the main list, an additional list is given. For free reading, proceed only after reading all the works from the main.
Literature Software Works for Grade 8
The genre diversity of this year's school curriculum is no different from the previous ones. Time frames also fluctuate in the three sections identified earlier:
- The works of Russian writers of the 19th century are divided into two periods: the first and second half of the century.
- Works of domestic writers of the 20th century (Soviet stage).
- Classical works of foreign authors.
Practical tips for studying the list of literature for the summer for students
To read the maximum of works from the school curriculum, you must correctly allocate time, the duration of which depends on the speed of your perception of tex (reading technique).
- Tentatively for students in grades 5-7. If the reading technique is high enough, then spend alone at least 40 minutes a day with a book. Calculate the volume of the work you read based on pages mastered per day: from 8-10 per day.
- Tentatively for students in grades 8-9. Given the increased volume of works, the student should spend reading from 2 hours a day. Minimum number of pages: 20 per day.
You should also understand that in summer it is more advisable to study voluminous works. You can leave poems for the school year. Also, review literature books in advance and outline a work plan for yourself. For example, in some schools, the division of the studied literature into quarters is encouraged.
We recommend keeping a reader's diary in order to write down your thoughts and impressions of the work in it. It is also useful to make your favorite quotes.
In addition to the main list, each student should be familiarized with an additional list of literature for the summer. It, like the main one, includes works, among which various genres and directions stand out.
How to motivate a child to read? Parent Tips
Some children reasonably believe that summer is not the time to read. For them, this sunny time is a period for fun, unlimited rest and walks with friends. What should parents do if their beloved child is not very interested in a summer literature list?
Morozova Victoria Emilievna, a teacher at a Moscow school, gives a number of tips that parents of unreading children should heed:
- Explain the value of reading books to your child. Give positive examples of the impact of your well-readness on your own life. If you do not have personal examples in the arsenal, refer to the biographies of famous personalities who are authoritative for your child.
- Children are imitated. Show a positive example: read, write out quotes, tell the moments that interest you publicly to the household.
- Warm up interest, motivate. Show how interesting reading is to you, how much pleasure you have from this process.
- Hang over the child’s desk a list of literature where you will celebrate successes in conquering it.
- Create a reading motivating corner in your home: a comfortable chair, shelves, stationery.
- Watch films made from the book with him and suggest finding differences between the original and the cinnabar.
On our own we can add: if your child does not burn with a desire to immerse himself in school literature, but reads books that do not affect the educational process, do not hinder this: it is better than not to immerse yourself in the world of words.
