For many years, clothes in the Greek style - dresses, tunics, blouses, have been on fashion catwalks.
True, the price of some models is quite high. If you are limited in funds, do not be discouraged. Such clothes are good because they are very easy to sew with their own hands, without any patterns. And sometimes you don’t even need to sew!
How to sew a dress without a pattern? Easy!
So, we decided that it would not be necessary to cut out patterns from magazines and download from the Internet. But what you can’t do without is, of course, fabric. Still need scissors, matching threads, several meters of braid or decorative tape and a sewing machine. But even if it is not - it does not matter, you can sew the dress manually.
A few recommendations for choosing fabrics: they should be light, flowing, thin, so that the dress turns you into a real Greek goddess. If you want a long outfit, the length of the material should be at least three meters, for a short dress, one and a half to two meters is enough.
So, we bought the fabric, stocked up with threads, and now, in fact, about how to sew a dress in the Greek style. There are several ways.
The first way is the easiest. You don’t need to sew anything. You just need to take a piece of fabric, wrap it in it, forming beautiful draping folds, and stab the ends with pins or a decorative brooch on the shoulder. You can take a decorative braid and bandage the resulting dress under the chest. Done! This is ideal for the beach - the dress is light, flying, with any gust of wind it opens seductively, showing off your tanned shape. If you want a more complete outfit, you can just sew it on one side, from the armhole to the hem. And the ends of the other, again, stabbed on the shoulder. The image can be complemented with suitable accessories and shoes in the Greek style.
The next way, how to sew a dress without a pattern, is not much more complicated than the previous one. We take a piece of fabric, lay it on the floor. We find the middle and draw a line in chalk. This will be a shoulder line, from her, both sides will go in front and back of the dress. We find the middle of this line and draw a perpendicular line that comes on one side (back) less, and on the other (front) - more. This will be a cutout for the head.
Now you can try on the dress and, if necessary, deepen the neckline. In principle, it can be at least to the waist. Then you need to pick up each side of the décolleté on the shoulders and under the chest, fix the result with braid pins. You can place another braid at the waist. Try again. If the way the folds are arranged suits you, you can sew on a braid or ribbon.
The same thing can be done on the back. And you can leave the middle of the cut free to sag - make a "rocker". We sew the side seams, and on the side, at the ends of the ribbons, you can make a fastener on a button or Velcro.
The third method is suitable for you if you have a short narrow dress in a strapless figure, but you for some reason do not wear it. After reading the next paragraph, you will understand how to

Actually, everything is the same as before: we wrap the fabric over a tight short dress, form a beautiful drapery, pin or stitch the ends on one shoulder. Sew individual folds with hidden stitches to the base dress. The fabric may be opaque or translucent - it all depends on the desired effect. If you do not have such a base, you can also sew it yourself, for example, from elastic knitwear. How to sew a dress from knitwear? Very simple - a rectangle of the desired length and width is simply sewn along the side seam. Due to his elasticity, he himself will take the form of your body.
