A handmade bag is a unique accessory in which a piece of the soul is enclosed, and also a great gift idea. Sewing a handbag is not at all difficult, you can do it in just one evening.
You will need
fabric, lining, bag pattern, chalk, scissors, threads, a needle, accessories, decorative elements (optional). The top material is selected depending on the purpose of the accessory. For an evening clutch, patent leather, guipure, satin, and brocade are suitable. A sports or beach bag can be sewn from thick cotton, linen or
denim. Handles are preferably reinforced with durable material. If you decide to please yourself with a new thing for work or study, choose suede, velor, wool.
The easiest way to sew a clutch bag or tablet. The bag pattern in this case is a rectangle. It is not difficult to calculate its parameters. Suppose you conceived a bag measuring 30 cm (length) by 15 cm (height).
The length of the pattern will be 30 cm, and the height is 45 cm. Do not forget to take into account the allowances for the processing of seams (1-2 cm). Now divide the height of the pattern into 3 equal parts, bend one of them and process the side seams. The corners of the free part can be slightly rounded. From the inside, we attach the button so that the bag closes. A handle can be a long ribbon, strap, chain.
The next bag pattern is a bit more complicated. The entire bag is assembled in one piece. Dotted lines indicate the folds. First we sew the bottom, then the side seams. At the end, we process the top and handles. It is advisable to make a lining of hard fabric so that the bag holds its shape better.
A beach bag should be comfortable, durable and roomy. This article presents the simplest pattern of a beach bag. Outwardly, she looks like a T-shirt. If the base is made wider than the upper part, then the bag will turn out an interesting trapezoidal shape.
We fold the material twice with the wrong side outward, circle the pattern with chalk, cut it out. The fold must be placed at the bottom, then you do not have to make a seam at the bottom of the bag. We process sidewalls and straps. We connect the narrow edges of each strap. Or you can just tie them in a flirty knot. Done! You can flaunt on the beach with a new accessory!
Just stitching 2 rectangles on three sides and sewing on pens will also make a nice bag. It can be closed with a zipper or buttons. This is probably the easiest bag pattern.
Are you going to throw away your old handbag? Do not rush, it may still come in handy. With it, you can easily make your own bag patterns. Spread the seams, lay the product on tracing paper or newspaper. Circle the contours with a marker, mark the points of attachment of handles, accessories. Now you can sew a replacement for your old handbag on this pattern. You can vary the width, height of parts, change shape. So you will get several different patterns at once.
How can you decorate the finished product? Everything is limited only by your imagination: appliqués, embroidery, lace, bows, beads ... You can add inserts from another fabric. Contrast solutions look especially interesting: leather inserts on a suede bag, floral fragments on a plain background. You can make flowers from satin ribbons or crochet them.
