Many go diving to see the magnificence and variety of fish that snoop around quickly. But the inhabitants of the seabed are not always good-natured, and some at the same time also look like real monsters. Such fish are not afraid of people, so when you meet them it is better to urgently retire.
Sabretooth
Sea monsters don't have to be big. They can be small, but very evil and scary. These include saber-toothed. Some call this fish much more frighteningly - the "cannibal". Her skin is covered with a thick layer of armor, and there are four sharp straight teeth in her mouth, with which she shreds the victim if she inadvertently swims too deep. These sea monsters are small, with an average of 15 to 20 cm in length. Their body is gradually expanding from tail to head, which because of this looks huge. Long teeth only complement the overall picture, making the saber-toothed even uglier. And although this species lives at a great depth of about 5,000 meters, they still manage to easily find a victim, and in some cases they can swim to a deeper depth in search of prey.
Dragon fish
Terrible black fish with small eyes and huge teeth with which they can gnaw even the thickest protection, are called dragons in the depths of the sea. Females of this species are long, up to 40 cm in length, and very flexible. They look terrifying, but the male dragons cannot boast of this. They are only 5 cm in length, males have no sharp teeth, and indeed they look little like predators. This species lives at a depth of about 2,000 meters.
An interesting fact: the eyes of dragon larvae hang on special stems, and as the fish grows, they "fall into place", that is, reach the orbits.
Goliath fish
This species of tiger fish is considered the most dangerous. Most of all, it resembles piranha, although it differs from it in size - the goliath fish is huge. There are five tiger species in total, the largest of which lives in the Congo River. The fish living there reaches 50 kg of weight and 180 cm in length, and even experienced divers seeking adventures are unlikely to want to meet with it. In addition, the mouth of the underwater inhabitant is “decorated” with teeth that are sharp as razors. Goliath can eat an animal that accidentally landed in water, and deal with a small crocodile. In addition, anglers eager to catch this predator need to be patient and have steel leashes - the fish can easily bite their usual razors with their “razors”.
Fancy marine life
In addition to dangerous monsters, who are just waiting for a new victim, quite good-natured fish are found in the oceans and rivers. They only look a little strange, and sometimes even repulsive. But because of this, the most striking representatives of unusual fish even gained some popularity.
Drop fish
Some call it the most disgusting fish of the existing. It does not hide as deep as the previously described species, but it will still be difficult to see - the drop prefers to live at a depth of 100 to 600 m.The body of the fish is slimy and large, it reaches 10 kg in weight and more resembles an incomprehensible jelly mass. In length, the average representative of this species is about 50-60 cm, the largest - 70 cm. Moreover, on its body there are no scales, as well as fins. Only the gelatinous structure allows the drop to move in the water, but since there are no muscles in the body of the fish, it can swim exclusively with the stream. So the underwater inhabitant eats in a very strange way - he simply opens his mouth and waits for the careless inhabitants of the ocean to get into it. Now this species is threatened with extinction, as lobster hunters very often catch it in their nets. The fish is inedible, but lives at about the same depth as the coveted prey of the fishermen.
An interesting fact: the drop has become very popular due to the fact that its face resembles a human face - it has large eyes and even a nose that most resembles potatoes. In addition, she is called the saddest fish in the world, and all because there is a sufficiently large distance between her eye sockets, which makes her seem to be constantly sad.
Tangerine
This small fish is considered “psychedelic” due to its coloring - blue, yellow, orange, blue and green shades make its body unusually bright. Such fish have become very popular because of the interesting colors, but despite the fact that many plant them in their aquariums, not everyone can keep a tangerine. This is because this species can only eat copepods, which are impossible to find on the shelves of pet stores - these are the smallest crustaceans in the ocean. So in captivity, tangerines often die precisely because of hunger.
Witch fish
This species is also called mixins and is considered one of the most unusual. The witch fish does not have jaws, and because of this, she eats only tiny fish or can climb into the body of a large dying girl, after which she will scrape it from the inside. The reputation of these sea monsters is not the best. They are the first by the amount of mucus on the body. The fish could even die, because the mucus constantly clogs its airways. But she herself cleanses her body of the slimy substance, while folding itself into a knot.
Interesting fact: the witch fish is the only species that can sneeze. She does this to remove mucus from one nostril.
Who lives on the seabed?
Anglerfish is the most dangerous and disgusting fish on the seabed. It is dangerous for experienced divers as well as for other inhabitants of the sea who live in depth. These terrible fish seem to hide their ugliness from others, therefore they live at a depth of 1 to 1.5 km. Anglers spend most of their lives at the very bottom, where they bury themselves in sand or silt in anticipation of a victim. In total, there are more than 200 species of these fish.
In addition, these sea monsters have a special "flashlight". It resembles a float and begins to glow at great depths. This serves as a kind of bait for reckless fish.
Marine life
Despite the terrible and disgusting neighbors, the life of marine inhabitants is quite diverse. Many fish have learned to defend themselves or hide from sea monsters who are trying to get them. Some species of strange, frightening creatures are not predators. They do not prey on people, such as, for example, anglerfish or goliath. This is a drop fish and a witch, which do not pose a threat to humans, despite their appearance.
