Now it is impossible to imagine a single enterprise in the warehouse of which there are no pallets - special containers designed for convenient transportation of heavy bulk cargo. Due to its versatility, these pallets are used in almost all sectors of industry and economy. Thanks to them, you can quickly load the goods and quickly send them to their destination. But, in order for the cargo to arrive in intact condition, it should be properly packed and loaded onto the surface of the given shipping container. But today we will not talk about the proper packaging of goods, but consider the features of the most popular type of pallets on the Russian market, which is called the Euro pallet. The dimensions, drawing and design of this container we will consider in the course of our today's article.
Material
Most often, this transportation device is made of wood. Less often you can find plastic or metal products. However, regardless of what material it is made of, the size of the euro pallet is the same. They have the same method of fastening. The cargo placed on the surface of the pallet is additionally wrapped with a special heat-shrink film or belts. The exception is cargo placed in the so-called "big bags" - plastic bags of enormous size.
Carrying capacity
It should be noted that despite the lightness of the pallet itself (its weight does not exceed 10 kilograms), the mass of the cargo transported on it can reach 2-2.5 tons. How is this possible? And this is achieved due to the thoughtful design of this container, in which there are wooden bars and boards connected to each other using 100 mm nails. It would seem that such a simple design should simply fall apart under a weight of several tons, but no: thanks to the correct placement of the checkers and the alternation of the width of the boards (they have different sizes), the euro pallet can safely carry loads weighing several thousand kilograms. What is the size of a euro pallet?
The Euro pallet should not be confused with its American counterpart, since both containers have completely different dimensions. The standard size of the euro pallet is 80x120 centimeters. At the same time, the “American” has dimensions of 100x100 centimeters. It is worth noting that this size of the euro pallet is not accidental. The fact is that it is such a length and width of the container that allows the most compact way to place the load on the platform of the semi-trailer. And now in more detail about it. The standard eurotruck accommodates up to 86 cubic meters of cargo.
The dimensions of the semitrailer are 13.6x2.45x2.65 meters (L / W / H, respectively). In such a truck, you can place exactly 33 euro pallets, no more and no less. Moreover, they can be laid in two ways - along (3 pieces each) and across (2 respectively). However, in any case, the distance from the walls of the body to the loaded containers will be only a few millimeters.
