Crafts for young children: cone monkeys

Nature offers us a large number of materials that can be used in creativity to create the most original and beautiful decor elements. For example, cone monkeys will be wonderful crafts that you can design with your child.

Craft "Monkey" for young children

Making crafts from natural materials is not so difficult. However, before this, you need to take a walk with the child to the park and find cones or other natural components.

The manufacture of such crafts has many advantages:

  • the child chooses the materials he wants to work with;
  • walks in the fresh air have a beneficial effect on the children's body;
  • such classes have a beneficial effect on the development of the child (perseverance, hand motility, imagination).

Necessary materials

To make a monkey from cones, you will need a small twig and, of course, three cones. One of them, the largest, is suitable for a monkey body, and two smaller ones are needed for making the head and other small parts (eye, ears and nose).

When all the materials are selected, they need to be interconnected. The first step is to separate the small parts for the eyes, nose and ears. They can be corrected with a knife or scissors so that all the elements fit the size. It is better not to trust this work to the child, let him help (trying on ready-made elements to the monkey’s head from cones). The work is almost ready, small parts stick to the head, which needs to be fixed on the main cone.

When all the parts are well fixed and the glue dries, you need to fix the tail. After completion of the work, the craft is best fixed on some basis so that it is stable and does not fall. For these purposes, a lid from a box or can is suitable. You can attach the monkey to the stand using plasticine or glue. If the toy is still unstable, then you can go the other way by attaching a thread at the top and making a Christmas tree decoration.

Monkey made of cones and clay

Funny crafts can be made of clay and cones. However, the absence of the first component should not interfere with the manufacture of the monkey. This material is easily replaced with ordinary plasticine. In addition, you will need to think about what to make the eyes from. In this example, green plasticine and black pebbles were used.

First of all, from clay or plasticine, you need to mold the head of the monkey. Two balls of different size should be rolled and blinded with each other. The connecting line is hidden and the muzzle and cheekbones are secreted. Now you need to attach flat ears to the monkey’s head and shape your eyes from green plasticine. Pupils from black pebbles are inserted into them. With the help of a toothpick make two nostrils and a long recess in the form of a wide mouth.

Then the monkey's head must be attached to the base of the bump. After this, the paws should be blinded. All of the same clay or plasticine needs to be rolled up four tubes. The ends of the forelegs are flattened, giving them the shape of their hands, and small ovals, similar to the feet, are attached to the hind legs. The monkey from the spruce cone is almost ready, at the end of the work you need to attach the paws and put the animal on a stump from a half of a nutshell. In this case, the monkey's legs should be bent at the knees.

If clay was used to make the craft, then it must be left to dry at room temperature. And after that, for stronger fixation, it is recommended to glue everything with glue.

And if a lot of natural materials were found in the forest, then monkeys from cones will become only the beginning of the child’s creative path. You can create many animals that will decorate the nursery, and the baby will learn how to handle natural materials correctly.
