Dutch rose - a flower for everyone

“There is no more charming creation of nature, which serves as such a clear expression of the giver’s feelings. A slender stem crowned with a fragrant beautiful flower will tell about the ardor of love spells and their inevitable cooling in the flow of time. This oldest legend tells of the origin of the first thorns that arose immediately after the fall of the first beloved couple. A smooth stem without thorns testifies to virtue. Yet the most convincing component of the flower is the color of the buds.

The Dutch rose is the most tender and most beautiful of the representatives of this species of plants. The most outstanding variety, without a doubt, the Grand Prix. Dutch Grand Prix roses are a recognized worldwide sales leader. They look great in a cut form, regardless of the splendor of the bouquet. Nevertheless, the flower is moody and needs careful care during its cultivation. Dutch roses prefer nutritious, fertilized and airy soil, in addition, it has a very weak winter hardiness. Severe Russian frosts are harmful to the root system of these pampered plants. However, this does not mean at all that the flower cannot be grown in the conditions of our infield.

The Dutch rose can be grown both from a seedling, and from a shank. Here we are faced with the classic choice between simplicity and cost. Seedlings are more expensive, but growing from cuttings is more difficult. Let's pay attention to a cheaper way.

First of all, visit a flower shop and buy strong and beautiful Dutch roses there, the price in this case does not matter, because then your own flowers will grow. Choose only the freshest plants. The Dutch rose grown using cuttings is called root. Its growth is organized exclusively in closed ground. A winter garden, apartment or greenhouse is well suited.

The purchased source material must immediately begin to be prepared for cuttings. The middle part of the plant must be divided into cuttings 12-15 cm in size. Make sure that each stem has 2-3 buds. The upper cut is done no further than half a centimeter from the kidney. It should have straight and even edges. Cut the spikes and remove most of the leaves: from the bottom - completely, and from the top leave one third of them, after which the upper cut is carefully treated with green leaf. After trimming the stem at an angle of 45 degrees, part of the peel of the notch area must be removed. Prepared cuttings are placed in a special preparation, which is easy to purchase at any pharmacy. For lack of such cuttings can be immersed in aloe juice.

The cuttings that have been left for 12 hours are planted in prepared soil (to a depth of 2 cm) under a three-centimeter layer of sand. Sprouts are watered with warm water and covered with cropped plastic bottles (without bottom). Through the neck of such a protective frame it will be very convenient to water Dutch roses.
