Igor Chapurin was born in 1968. At the Vitebsk Technological College, he was educated as a designer of clothes for women and after that he began working as a fashion designer in one of the Vitebsk ateliers. He received his second specialty at a technological institute, where he entered in 1991. Now he had the opportunity to work as a "fashion designer." His collections appeared quite unusual design solutions. His dream came true in 1992, when Igor Chapurin, a fashion designer, took part in the Nina Ricci competition. He was even able to get into the top ten winners and in 1992 already represented Russia in France at the festival of young fashion designers. The jury was then Pierre Cardin, Kenzo, Sonia Riquel and many others. When the internship was over, he was offered to work at Max Mara in Paris. But he preferred to return to Moscow, where he set about creating dresses for girls who won beauty contests.
Career turning points
In 1994-1995 Igor Chapurin for the first time demonstrated his own collection in the capital of Russia. Then he was famous only in the West. He specifically invited Roger Zeiler, the French president of the elegance committee, to the show. It was he who made the order to the young designer for three dozen suits for Miss Europe.
