Overthrown from an insignificant height, the Kamyshlinsky waterfall is a very spectacular natural object of the Altai Mountains. Waterfall location
In the Altai Territory, across the expanses of the Shebalinsky district, the Katun River flows . On its left bank, in the low mountains, Kamyshlinsky waterfall merrily rustles, lurking among coniferous forests. A water column falls down from a low ledge on the Kamyshla River, 400 meters from its mouth.
Near the natural monument are the villages of Barangol and Ust-Sema. From them to Gorno-Altaysk 50 kilometers. Its closest neighbors are the mouth of the Sema River and the Tavdinsky Caves. Near the waterfall on the right bank of the Katun River runs the 490th kilometer of the Chuysky tract.
Tourist sites in the waterfall area
The waterfall is adjacent to the Tsarskaya Okhota tourist complex. From the hostel down to the Katun River, a trail with a length of 1.5 kilometers was laid. The route rests on a suspension bridge, thrown over Katun.
Overcoming the staggering bridge, travelers have time to enjoy stunning panoramic views from the unstable structure to the rapids, dizzying whirlpools, majestic cliffs and forests. Behind the bridge is a coniferous forest with a path leading to the waterfall.
Before tourists get to Kamyshlinsky Falls, Altai will fill their souls with joy from contemplating colorful forest and mountain landscapes, man-made objects. Here, among the trees, an impromptu dwelling made of wood lurked.
Having penetrated into the building, travelers take magnificent photographs in a forest hut with original decoration. On the way to the waterfall every now and then there are all kinds of intricate figures made of knots and sticks. A walk along the ennobled path takes from 40 minutes to an hour.
There are several camp sites in this region, including the Tsarskaya Okhota complex. Each of them provides many services and entertainment. The centers offer river rafting, motor boat rides, bike and horse rides, and roller skating.
How to get to Kamyshlinsky Falls

The first, shortest route begins at the Tsarskaya Okhota camp site and leads through a suspension bridge thrown over Katun. For crossing the bridge a fee is charged - 50 rubles per person.
However, not every tourist decides to use the pedestrian bridge because of the fear of heights and the constantly staggering structure. Some travelers prefer to pay boaters to transport them to the opposite shore. Crossing a motor boat costs 200-300 rubles (as bargained) per person.
Using the second path, they first of all get to the village of Ust-Sema, pass the bridge on the left bank of the Katun, turn right, on the asphalt highway, and follow it to the children's camp, from which a hiking trail leads to the waterfall.
Organized excursions are regularly sent from the camp sites scattered around Lake Aya, Chemal and the Katun River. Having joined the excursions, you don’t have to worry about how to visit the Kamyshlinsky waterfall.
Waterfall Description

In the center, water flows over steep rocky surfaces. Below, water flows with noise and thunder rapidly break down from a sheer cliff in the form of a ledge.
The surrounding mountain range near the natural monument is composed of quartzite, limestone, crystalline schists and other rocks. Rocks overgrown with mosses. Their slopes were tightened by forests.
