The A500C fittings are a metal core of the A5 brand which has a wide range in diameter, from 6 to 40 mm.

The properties of A500C fittings fully comply with the international quality standards of the material. The state construction industry of the Russian Federation recommends the use of this type of product in reinforced concrete structures. The use of the brand is possible either instead of, or together with such raw materials as At-3C, as well as just A-3. The main requirement is a match in diameter.
If we talk about the marking of the A500C fittings, then it is deciphered as follows. The first letter indicates that the operation of hot-rolled steel was used as a technological process for the production of this raw material. In addition, the quality of the resulting product was artificially improved by thermal and mechanical processing. The last letter indicates that a welding process is allowed in order to connect the reinforcement to each other or to another material. The number 500 indicates the maximum yield strength of raw materials.
Supply and manufacture
The supply of class A500C fittings is allowed in two forms: in the form of rods or in the form of coils. To determine the form in which transportation will be convenient and allowed, you need to know the diameter of the product. If it is up to 6 mm, then transportation is carried out in the form of a skein. If the diameter is from 6 to 12 mm, then transportation is carried out in the form that is most convenient for the customer. If the indicator exceeds 12 mm, then delivery can be carried out only as rods.
The main raw material for the manufacture of this product was low-carbon steel grade 35G2S or 35GS. The carbon content in such a substance does not exceed 0.22%. For the production of A500C class, two types of technological process are used: hot-rolled or cold-drawn. When using the second type of manufacture, the final product will be wire or rolled reinforcement. If the hot-rolled method is used, the result will be rod reinforcement.
Positive qualities and use
Because of its characteristics, A500C reinforcement has become quite widespread in the construction industry, when it is necessary to create a reinforced concrete structure, fill the foundation, etc. In addition to creating new objects, it is also possible to use material to strengthen existing, load-bearing structures or simple concrete floors .
This raw material has a fairly large number of positive qualities, however, several of them are still the main ones:
- this material contributes to increased design resistance, which can significantly reduce the cost of raw materials for the creation of the structure;
- the material is quite economical, since the cost of thermomechanical processing is low;
- due to the fact that there is no pinning of raw materials in the welding zone, the strength and ductility are increased;
- the reinforcement is unified, that is, this group can replace others: A240, A300, A400.
Fittings A500C A3. What is the difference?
It is important to understand that the class of reinforcement used for the construction of the structure will be selected at the stage of preparation of the project. If we are talking about the construction of a residential facility with a mass of up to 80 tons, then most often category A3 is selected. This includes fittings A500C and A400. Quite often, these two groups are considered very similar to each other, but this is not so. There are significant differences.
- Application. Both classes of reinforcement will be used for repair work or the creation of reinforced concrete products, construction or finishing of frames, etc. However, a significant difference between 500 and 400 (3) lies in the fact that the first category can be used in both loaded and unloaded areas. While the A400 is used only when working in areas with high voltage.
- Weldability. Despite the fact that the manufacturing process for both brands is the same, class A3 cannot be welded. The reason is that the initial raw material is 25GS steel, which is considered to be high carbon. To connect such a product is allowed only with a special knitting wire.
It is worth paying attention to the fact that the price of A500C fittings varies greatly and mainly depends on the diameter. So, the price can be 200 rubles / t, and more than 30 000 rubles / t.
Acceptance in accordance with GOST
In accordance with state standard 52544-2006, the following acceptance rules for this product were established:
- raw materials are accepted from the manufacturer only in batches;
- parameters such as fluidity, elongation, resistance, bending properties, etc. are checked;
- important indicators are the chemical properties of the reinforcement, the quality of its surface.
A batch can only be considered raw materials that have one nominal diameter, one state of supply, and also one bucket. In addition, it is necessary that there is a document confirming the quality of the batch. Another important condition for the receipt of goods is that the total weight of the products should not exceed 70 tons.
GOST A500C fittings
Important details are marking and packaging for the material.
The rental must have a mark on which the manufacturer’s trademark will be indicated, as well as a direct description of the product itself. According to this document, acceptance of the delivery of reinforcing steel is allowed if the marking is applied using thickened transverse ribs. In this case, the manufacturer shall designate the place where marking begins with two thickened ribs.
A500C fittings according to GOST 52544-2006 must have several types of packaging for their transportation. If the final product is packed in skeins, then the weight of one should be in the range from 1.5 to 15 tons. However, if the consumer so requires, then the minimum weight can be reduced. Another important condition is that each individual skein can consist of only one segment of reinforcement.
