Stages of working on a potato costume for a girl
Expanding a piece of prepared fabric, it is necessary to note the middle in it. Ten centimeters to the right and left should be measured from it. The next step is to prepare the parts for the application. They will become the “face” of the outfit. You can cut them out of felt (another suitable fabric will do). Finished parts need to be attached with pins at the place where they are planned to be sewn in the future. Master sleeves

After preliminary fixation of the fabric by tailor pins, it is necessary to cut a pair of symmetrical armholes in the marked places. You can use another way: the side parts of the outfit are sewn together in previously doubled fabric. In this case, with the holes for the hands will have to do otherwise: they do not need to be sewn. This method will require overlocking the edges.
In the upper part of the back it will not hurt to make a small incision, then with the dressing of the outfit the child will have no difficulties. The main thing is to provide for fixing a Velcro, button or button (the option listed first, more practical). A do-it-yourself potato costume is almost ready.

How to make a vegetable foam

If there is fabric (at least lining, any color), then a couple of details must also be cut from it. They should be more than foam rubber. Cloth foam is required to be sewn together at the shoulders and sides. If you want to give the material extra volume, then you can not do without a few tucks. Having quilted parts in several places, you can get an imitation of eyes. If the fabric cannot be found, then you can resort to coloring the foam in the selected shade.
