Many places in the highest echelons of power today are occupied not by those who have served in the ministries for years, but by energetic and active managers under the age of 40. So, on May 18, 2018, Evgeny Ivanovich Dietrich was appointed to the post of Minister of Transport of Russia.
At this place, he was replaced by Maxim Yurievich Sokolov, who worked on the post since 2012. Sokolov was not elected to the updated Government of the Russian Federation, according to analysts, due to many problems in the field of passenger transportation. So, after the bankruptcy of the country's largest airline, he received a disciplinary sanction from the president.
Biography of the Minister of Transport of Russia
Evgeny Ivanovich was born on September 18, 1973 in the Moscow region, in the city of Mytishchi. He received a prestigious education at MEPhI with a degree in Mathematics. Later received a diploma in law. Over the years of work in the public service, he has repeatedly taken advanced training courses, in particular, at the State University of Land Management.
The future Minister of Transport of Russia began his career rapidly. While still at university, he worked at the RF State Committee for State Property Management. Here he was able to rise even to the head of the department. Since 2015, Evgeny Ivanovich was promoted to the post of head of the transport surveillance service. The next three years, until his appointment in the ministry, was the first deputy of M. Yu. Sokolov.
Public service and personal life
As the minister’s right hand, Dietrich worked with entrepreneurs, established contacts between the department and private organizations. Also, one of the tasks of the deputy was the development of projects to optimize costs when updating social infrastructure. He was a member of a non-profit organization dealing with practical issues of implementing interesting projects in the regions of the country. It is precisely because of the initiatives taken in the social sphere that the president relied on Dietrich.
Little is known about the personal life and hobbies of the statesman. In the media in the photo, the Minister of Transport of Russia appears infrequently. He is married, has three children.
Also, Evgeny Ivanovich was awarded many honorary awards. Among them: “Gratitude of the Government of the Russian Federation” for many years of service, the sign “Honorary Worker of Transport of Russia”. In 2017, Dietrich received thanks from V.V. Putin for his work on improving the transport interchange in Moscow and the Order of Honor.
What I managed to do and plans for the future
The new Minister of Transport of Russia received the department in the midst of large-scale construction. In addition to the complete reconstruction in the capital, the project of the Crimean bridge has not yet been fully completed.
The tasks of the Minister of Transport of Russia for the next 5 years are regulated by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 05/07/2018:
- Designing a clear scheme and plan for the development of transport infrastructure, including all types of transportation.
- Creation of new, high-quality and safe roads.
- Keeping clear control over the allocated funds.
The main strategic task of the coming years will be primarily the improvement of existing roads throughout Russia, as well as an increase in their numbers.
The second important project is related to the improvement of the regional supply system. Today, the lion's share of federal funds allocated does not reach the actual implementation of projects. Therefore, the new team set one of the main tasks to find ways to prevent and reduce corruption in the country.
