In the industrial city, which is the largest coal-mining center in Russia, there is a wonderful corner with beautiful nature. We are talking about Zenkovsky Park in Prokopyevsk (photo can be seen in the article). It covers an area of 200 hectares. This park is like a breath of clean air in a city in which gray snow will fall even in winter. Among the dust and permitted structures, there is such a mini-paradise in Prokopyevsk where you can relax with your body and soul surrounded by nature.
Briefly about the park
Zenkovsky Park (Prokopyevsk) was opened a long time ago - back in 1933. On its territory there is a forest and a lake. There is everything for a good rest: attractions, playgrounds for sports, alleys with comfortable benches. The park was arranged by the townspeople. Now there are two sanatoriums operating on its territory: Shakhtar and Prokopyevsky. The latter is considered the best health resort of Kuzbass.
In summer, the park organizes entertainment. You can ride a horse or see the city from a bird's eye view by taking a helicopter ride. Those who enjoy outdoor activities are invited to the football stadium and ski-rental base, which operates only in winter.
In the Zenkovsky park (Prokopyevsk) the hotel complex "Aurora" works. In it you can not only have a good rest, but also go for a drive on a skating rink (in winter) or play tennis on spacious courts.
Children will also be interested in visiting the park. On its territory sculptures of fairy-tale heroes, playgrounds were built. Serves the park municipal institution "Pearl".
Reconstruction
Zenkovsky Park (Prokopyevsk) was first reconstructed in the 50s. The initiators were the workers of the Central mine. They attracted local people. The second full-scale reconstruction was carried out in the 2000s. Students, labor collectives, and townspeople cleaned the area of garbage. In order to revive the park, it was necessary to strengthen the dam and clean the bottom of the lake. Updates touched the central gate, which greets guests. Entering Zenkovsky park (Prokopyevsk), the Glory monument is immediately striking. It was opened in 1985, devoting to the 40th anniversary of the victory over the Germans.
